And people wonder why trust in our public institutions is at an all time low.

That was just terrible.

.i thought too there was a small one at the police stAtion when it was on State Street

The old city jail is on state street. It is past the city court house, near Gulf Coast Bank. Its been closed for years. There is not as much as a holding facility in the new Abbeville Police Department. People are brought to be booked and either bond out or get shipped off.

So a city employee was working a detial for the Parish School board

That city employee is a resource officer at a school in the city. The school board office is also in the city...ergo he has jurisdiction where he was at least night.

Did you post that one too?

This thread has been great. Sure beats the shite out of having to depress myself by reading the coaching changes board all day.

I have a feeling this will get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

I have a feeling there might be some turnover in the school board

The good news here is that another good ole boy network has been exposed. The arrest is a sideshow. Hopefully the teacher can keep everyone focused on the political fiefdom, which is the real story.

All the baws on the OT love bagging on NOLA, but the truth is that corruption/incompetence/misuse of funds is everywhere there is public money. Democrat, Republican, it doesn't matter. The more money, the more misuse. DC being the worst.

Funny part is that the Superintendent is originally from NOLA. Must have learned it somewhere!

I am curious whether one of the board members told him to do this or if the idiot did it on his own.

From my experience when I was still doing news and covering local meetings like this I'd say it's a near lock the officer was told by somebody to get rid of her.

No he’s not. He’s from the Westbank. Went to Shaw. From Gretna.

Yep. It just depends if the focus stays on simply the arrest, or if its used to expose other issues.

Both sides of the school board will probably be now itching to get their side of the story air time. The media can spin this a ton of different ways, depending on which side they give the microphone too.

None of this happens without the arrest. That poor teachers arrest may be what gets the ball rolling over some peoples heads.
