That is pretty much standard for every parish and county seat. Or was.

wouldn’t have. Unless she spent the night in jail I would hope she was at her attorneys office.

Pretty sure she doesn't even have to do that...attorneys will be aching to get their hands on this.

The superintendent said they weren't pressing charges

That means nothing. Thats just the board trying to save face by saying, "We didn't make them arrest you." The arrest was still made with charges pressed, essentially by that officer.

That is why I said, he will take the brunt of the fall for this.

had a consolidated school for Laf, Ver, & Acadia Parish called Indian Bayou

This is still a school, and it's located in Vermilion parish, and I"m pretty sure all students who go there live in Vermilion parish.

Abbeville doesn’t have a jail? Vermillion Parish doesn’t have a jail?

Abbeville does not have a jail. It closed many years ago. Vermilion Parish has a jail, run by the sheriff. They have a contract for all felony charges to go to the parish and a contract for misdomeaner chargers to go to New Iberia.

So who arrested her?

That was a city Marshall working security for that meeting. City police dodged a bullet there, being able to keep their hands clean in this mess.

Wasn’t that a Parish Marshall? but that was a City cop that came and picked her up. Does a Parish Marshall have jurisdiction to arrest and book someone at the city police station?

wow that my friends is called going full retard. This really will not end well for them. This story has blown up! It was just trending on my Amazon Alexa Show.

I have no idea why that officer decided to kick her out. She was called on and was asking questions that directly applied to the topic. I am curious whether one of the board members told him to do this or if the idiot did it on his own.

No, it was at the top of the courthouse. No basements in Abbeville (flooding). My grandmother would bring us up there when we were little kids to scare us.... it worked

Board president Anthony Fontana said her questions were not related to the topic of the meeting. That was a bs statement though because it was directly related.
Almost without a doubt this Marshall was directed by the board.

That was a city marshall that made the arrest. Any time they arrest somebody (which is pretty much only limited to kids fighting at school...and thats only because a city Marshall works at one of the schools as a resource officer) they are taken to the police department for booking.

Then, like a said, if its a misdemeanor off to NI. If its a felony, off to the parish. Unless its a juvenile, in which case its off to mommas house.

The arrest happened last night.

She couldn't be arrested today for what happened yesterday, without a warrant. And no way in hell would anybody get a warrant for that...and it probably wouldn't get signed off on anyway.
