Also they have to disturb an indian burial site in order to remove it as well.

The first step requires UW-Madison to submit a request to disturb a catalogued burial site. All Native Tribes of Wisconsin are notified during the process, which can take 60 to 90 days and includes a 30-day comment period. A qualified archeologist is also required to be on site during removal.

Now we gotta do something about those stalagmites and stalactites. They’re the trannys of rocks and deserve a voice.
I stand with it!
I stand with it!

I remember when using black as a description for blacks was offensive. Now it’s what matters.

McWhorter also faulted the Wisconsin State Journal for printing the vulgarity in a 1925 news article.
University historians identified the news story as the only known instance of the offensive term being used.
Seems like it's the newspaper that needs to be cancelled, not the rock.

But the rock was referred to at least once after it was dug out of the hill as a “n***erhead,” a commonly used expression in the 1920s to describe any large dark rock.
So somebody went tell a bunch of students that a mean word was spoken 100 years ago "at least once" and now a big rock is racist
What's the limit to what we would get rid of? If a former governor uttered a racial slur about the BR bridge "at least once" would be blow it up?

It's the era of neo Puritanism, book bannings and witch hunts

It's the US version of the Taliban.

Damn good way of looking at it.

Should blacks that have been called this term (by other races obviously) be removed?
How much of this kind of stuff is black fragility or just blacks just taking advantage of systemic white liberal guilt?
Either way those with self respect and belief in personal responsibility need to start speaking out more or not complain later when they are seen as their race first and foremost instead of an individual.

I heard that about 57 years ago the Washington st exit was referred to as the “****** ramp.”
So...demo after thanksgiving weekend?

Exactly what i was going to say. 99.9% of the students and public never knew that, and yet they think doing this is changing things. It's the most ridiculous, misguided bullshite... to the point of being comical.

If everything is racist, nothing is racist.

I hope that the rock comes back and slashes the Achilles tendons of those who caused this.

Just getting rid of it before someone carves it into a racist statue.

Well said. I think we need to start speaking out specifically against these school administrators who enable this shite. Our universities are the incubators of all these terrible ideologies. To be fair, some of them are probably just doing what they think they have to in order to not get cancelled themselves. But we can't continue to allow the loudest, angriest person to dictate what happens on campus.

I was honestly just wondering that same thing. Unfortunately I feel like we're going to find out just how far people will allow this kind of shite to go. But with every single one of these ridiculous stunts they just feel more empowered.
I mean, common sense would say the reaction would be "that guy that called the rock that name 100 years ago is a dick" and we move on with our lives, yet here we are. Thanks 2020.
