Using USPS for anything important is trashy
Yes, BUT, Amazon drops a shite-ton of stuff off at our local post office daily to deliver for them. Every time I go to the post office there is is always an Amazon vehicle there unloading.

I went to mail a package today and they told me to plan on 3 weeks for delivery with USPS or for $8 more FedEx would have it there in 2 days. It’s the perfect example of how anything run by the government sucks and can usually be done better by private business.

Houston transplant from B.R.
Isn't Houston's USPS system having some sort of crazy problems now? I think that is a limited anomaly because there is nothing USPS will ship that will take even close to 3 weeks by Ground Advantage or even Media Mail from Maine to Hawaii on the normal time frame.

Mail carriers literally just say the address doesn't exist rather than double-back and deliver the mail.
my favorite is the delivery exception called "no access to delivery location"...this is code for "i didn't feel like finishing my mail route and went home early"...

That's got to be a glitch. Look at the times. There's no way it arrived in New Orleans at 1:30 and was in Dallas around three hours later.

My grandpa worked for the post office, he knew it was time to retire when his supervisor asked him how to spell Wednesday

Could be a simple computer glitch. Relax.

I’ve sold on eBay from the beginning (over 25 years) and probably 99.9% of my packages have been delivered correctly. It’s that tiny percentage that pisses us off

My Amazon purchases are far more likely to be delivered two streets over.
Completely agree. Have a record shop and have had some problems with USPS but 25X more with Amazon and actually more with FEDEX / UPS too.

Ten years ago, we fixed this problem. Fed Ex bid package did not arrive next day. Truck broke down. We were tossed into the trash can on a ten million dollar bid, a day late.
Since that time, we send a package by Fed Ex and DHL four days early ....

Except when it does.
I’m not saying I rely on business cards, but obviously people still find them useful in my experience. My business card holder on my desk isn’t emptying itself and I don’t ask people to take a card, they just do it.

UPS does as well.

Fortunately the USPS PTB haven't figured out how to add on a storage fee.

My biggest gripe is the pricing. I sell books, and media mail has gone up so much, that I am committed to selling off what inventory I have, and not buying more.
I just checked media mail pricing and a 16 oz package in an 11 x 15 x 1 box shipped from WI to AZ is $4.13. Same package to an address in state is also $4.13.
I really don't know how cheap people expect shipping to be...
eta-Here are the various rates. Ground advantage has $100 insurance btw. Just like Priority.

I had a package delivered last month to my door without a name or address on it. It was just a barcode that the delivery driver scans for the address.
I was thinking what if he dropped it off at the wrong address, I wouidht know it’s not mine until I opened it up, thus committing a crime.
