I will say times certainly have changed. USPS has job fairs around the country and we are having a hard time getting people that want to work. Different work ethic with these younger people. We have full time carriers having to assist on other routes after they deliver theirs, because we can’t hire enough help.
Our two biggest issues are not enough mail carriers and having to deliver Amazon. USPS should have never agreed to deliver Amazon. We are delivering their packages for Pennie’s and it has increased our package volumes to unmanageable levels.

Have you tried applying for the USPS? It's the worst application/process I've ever gone through. It became clear they were looking for something other than ability to perform the functions of the job.

I’ve had tons of the same experiences in Birmingham. 2 days to get here from out west or up north and it sits in a facility for 2-3 days before making it to the post office. Then it sits there a few more days for good measure. And it isn’t just Christmas volume it is year round.

That’s certainly not an issue it’s the user.
If you are having an issue with deliveries you may want to re-think where you live. It’s a demographic issue lazy people who just don’t want to work.

I live in the same area, and you are correct.

When my dad turned 70, we mailed him a separate card for each member of our family. We put them all in the mail on the same day. Only one of them made it on his birthday. One was a day early somehow, and the rest were late by varying numbers of days. Was amazing to witness.

I won't argue that there aren't lazy people in my area, and absolutely most of the USPS workers I've met fall into this category.

But no, this isn't a problem only in certain areas. The USPS sucks everywhere.

I will get an email from USPS for an Amazon order that tells me “the package cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address. Please click here to correct it.”

I never click that shite, but the package always gets delivered. Makes me think that there are people in the post office deliberately trying to frick with you. Illegally. Delivery does take longer when they use the US Postal Service, tho.

The USPS is welfare with slight responsibilities. You can't change my mind because they suck that bad. The worst fast food worker probably has better work ethic than these fools.

And this is why Trump said the other day they will look to privatize the USPS. Lazy employees, just all around inefficiency. The post office is pathetic.

Screw the USPS. I ordered a brass propane fitting from a place in Montgomery. I live in Tuscaloosa (100 miles apart) and it took 3 weeks to get here.

Why so long you wonder? Because it went from Montgomery AL, to Miami FL, to Los Angeles, to frickING Guam then back to Alabama.

Guam. Maybe they thought the weight of it would keep it from flipping over.

They are pathetic. Need to be privatized and if unable to make it be shut down.

I have a package that was supposed to be delivered yesterday sitting in Dallas since Wednesday at 6 AM with no update.

Not just you.

Hate Amazon all you want but I can order a custom part that I’d have to go to Austin/Dallas/San Antonio for and have it delivered less than 24 hours and sometimes the same day. They’ve mastered efficiency.

I literally have the same last status update for a package i sent on Monday. Kinda glad its not just me though. Was worried the label had come off or something.

Sucks because it's a christmas greenery arrangement for my sick aunt. The oasis it's in is going to dry out soon.

I get lots of stuff and all of it is on the same schedule basically. Would think it's yet another Baton Rouge ineptitude issue
