USM Frat member runs through N.O. hotel window to his death

"Our understanding is that he alone broke out the window and then fell out of it," Gernon said. “He was running into it at some point and accidentally broke it out and lost his balance and fell out the window.”Whaley was “yelling and screaming” in his hotel room after an earlier event on Bourbon Street, one witness told police, according to an NOPD incident report. One witness said he yelled “let’s go swimming” and rammed the window three times with his shoulder before it broke.

He was 7 stories above the pool. Nobody gets drunk enough to think they can jump ~70' into 8' of water (if they land in the deep end.
This guy was probably just clowning around and didn't think there was any possibility of actually knocking the glass out of the frame.

Ya know... I've been drunk before. I've said stupid things, and done stupid things. But I've never thought that jumping from an 11th floor window into a pool was a reasonable idea. I'm sympathetic for the family, but that's just insane.
