Going full blown Dave Ramsey. Downgrading the 2015 Audi. Looking to get a 6-10 year old Lexus/Toyota around the 100k Mark. Found a 07 Lexus ES350. One owner 9K miles driven per year. Serviced every 5K miles at the dealership. Flawless CarFax. Is it safe to assume I could drive this thing 200K miles plus?

I have an 2008 with 234,000 other than brakes and timing belt the thing runs like a champ!

I'm not going to lie when I test drove it the other day, I was mind blown at how much better it felt than my Audi considering that I'm "downgrading"

They're comfortable as anything! Service mrg at my Lexus dealership said with my regular maintenance schedule there's no reason not to see 300,000+ Miles

I have a '07 Lexus ES350 that I bought new in December of 2006. It now has 235,000 miles on it. The evaporator coil went out about a year ago in the dash, that was a $800 fix. Other than that it's been tires, oil, wiper blades, brakes and one battery so far. 30 MPG.
One headlight bulb and two tail lights.
The tire air pressure sensors have failed so it shows a TPS yellow light.
It needs a floor mat and the perforated seat (driver's side) is worse for the wear.
Wonderful car. I'll replace it next year with another Japanese-built Lexus.
I went by the factory in Fukuoka, Kyushu and thanked them.

Nice! That's what I like to hear before I take the plunge. I'm sick of a car payment. I traded in an 06 Acura TL with only 150K miles on it last year. I miss that old thing. Best part about it was that it was paid off. Looking forward to no car payment again so I can knock out my student loans in less than 2 years.

Yep. The wife's Honda is paid off,we didn't know how good we had it until I was dumb enough to go out and get a car payment. Now paying my stupid tax.

Audi's are pieces of shite. You are upgrading from your Volkswagen.
And yes it will very easily hit 200+. I have a 98 Toyota Analon that was my commuter car that has 288,000 on it. Still going strong.

I'm not knocking the idea of being fiscally smart. But I'm speaking as someone who recently got rid of his Lexus ES - after driving an audi you're going to hate it. It's like driving a boat.
I went from three different BMWs to a 2014 ES. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice car and a comfortable ride. But man was it boring to drive.

Yeah, I realize it won't be a sporty. But the Audi A3 sedan I had was a glorified Jetta. So it is EXTREMELY crammed. I'm 25 and looking to have kids in another year and a half. I think sportiness may need to go in the name of fiscal responsibility.

This thread sparked me to look into older Lexus models. Supposedly the ls430 is solid, especially the 05-06 models. If you get the right model, they are nice looking. But you get a big body sedan with ~300hp v8, roomy and comfortable, that will last to 2-300k miles with minimal maintenance (timing belt is the only thing every 80k). And if you get one without factory nav, you can easily swap in a pioneer/alpine and get your Bluetooth, USB audio, and/or Apple CarPlay (if you so wish).
It's no s65 or 760 bimmer, but you'd get a nice, large luxury car that would last forever. The price of them vary from 10-20 for a model with 60-100k on the clock.
