So I should jump on this for $1800?

It's an '02 with 180K on it.

Probably worth a look

Trucks are worth their weight in gold it seems so if it runs well, that's probably a steal

Yea I guess

I wasn't wanting to have too much tied up in it since it's not for me.

Now I have to figure out the best way to owner finance a vehicle. I have done it with real estate on a bond for deed but I know a vehicle is way different and I am wanting to have him name me as the lien holder on insurance and stuff.

Yea yea I'm serious bout the truck though. The guy that works for me had a huge van he was selling for 1,000. Was way too big for me. I can see if he still has it

I recently sold a 1996 Dodge Stratus which did not run and needed multiple repairs to a salvage yard for $400.

I asked him what he was going to do with it and he said he will strip it down and sell it for parts. He said it takes him about 12 hours per car and he gets about $2000 for the parts.

This has to be driving prices of running cars up.

I put 40k miles a year on a car, so I'm always looking for something cheap. Ever since 09 the used car market has sucked, it's not worth having a dealers license because the auctions only have junk (haven't been in a few years). And small dealers and curbers stay on Craigslist, so when a good deal shows up (and they do) it's sold in 30 minutes.

In general, current new and used car prices are shocking to me. Not in need of a car but was perusing prices of some new and even used (within a year old) larger SUVs. I cannot conceive of paying $75k+ for a vehicle. Even the used market is ridiculous. Escalades with 20,000 miles on them are being sold for 2k-3k less than a brand new one.

I don't understand how many of my friends, several with school teacher jobs, afford their brand new denalis or huge Infiniti SUVs. It's not to be judgy, but I know one who's house is 200k and car is 100k.
