You may think so but the average American doesn't as indicated by sales.
I only made it to the end of the 1st page but so much wrong information.
The beef industry, which is the big 4, is protected by the gov and fricks the cattle producers.
The cattle industry doesn't get most of the protections that a lot of AG get and has been hammered by drought and cost.
Cattle have a longer gestation period than humans. So most cattlemen have had 1-2 good selling crops after a decade of marginal to bad.
Let the US market decide the price of beef, not the government.

Wait till these folks sit at home on election day. Doesn't take much to swing the vote in SD/ND or MT.

What I'm about to say isn't pro or anti Trump
The issue of high need prices is not one that is easily solved. As many have mentioned, there may be record prices but there's also record input prices. Grain and cotton farming are suffering from the same issue combined with the same less than ideal weather issue yet grain and cotton aren't anywhere close to record prices. Fact is I don't really have a suggestion on how try to curb some of these issues short of significant spending cuts at the federal level which will almost certainly never, ever happen.
Politicians like Trump don't know the answer either but since "I don't know what the hell to do" doesn't make for a good sound bite we get answers like we did today
This country and world are in quite a mess they much in for certain

They write everything off and live high on the ranch, don’t have a worry with their generational wealth, (most of the big families) but on the books? They hide or write off more than you can imagine.
But yes, the processors need to be reckoned with & broken up.

You have to be very careful from whence you import beef. If there aren’t robust regulations on what the cattle are fed, unscrupulous ranchers will feed them byproducts of other cattle and that’s how you get mad cow.
Prions are scary.

Sounds like the govt wanted to give a chance for domestic ranchers to succeed.
Ranchers doing what ranchers do, and went full retard with the pricing thinking it was their industry now. This is the governments way of slowing their roll a bit.
I'll allow it.

And to break China. That's also a foundational goal of certain tariffs. This isn't one of those
I work in China a fair bit, I’m familiar with them.
It won’t break China, it will just give the CCP an easy scapegoat for any trouble they may have. So instead of China’s real estate trouble be the fault of Xi Xiping policy, it’s the fault of the Americans.
This is the shite dictators feed on. It’s kept the Kim family in power for decades, the Ayatollah in power, and kept Saddam in power until we went back a second time under questionable circumstances.
Using only the words coming from Trump’s mouth, it’s going to easy for the CCP to portray that it’s the USA’s fault that their lives are 10% worse (in the event the Tariff’s are 100% effective).
If the idea is to break China, it has to be 100% clear TO THE CHINESE that this is a CCP thing and not a USA thing.

You can be flat year over year and still be in business.
You can roll operating loans over, depending on your leverage.
There are various scenarios where your paycheck you pay yourself is lower than would be typical.

Costs of doing business are real. Chainsaws, tractors, sxs’s, four wheelers, things that may seem like toys to others are tools for business for others. I also didn’t see anyone else busting ice off water troughs Christmas Day either.

Perhaps a bigger concern is the size of the national herd. It's diminished and with folks selling off mama cows and calves, rebuilding the size of the herd is not something that will happen overnight. They expect grocery store prices to continue to go up.
Pairs (that's what they're called) are usually purchased to expand herd size, add breeding stock, etc. They're still in the national herd.

-tarrifs are working. record amounts of committed investments means companies are serious about manufacturing in the US. not to mention we’re going to bring in half a trillion in revenue on an annual basis
-inflation was coming down and then stalled a little bit due to tariffs. i expect it to start falling again soon now that the effects of tariffs have been baked in
-unfair to pin this on an administration that’s been in place for less than a year, but we’ll see how it plays out
-interest rates are starting to fall. trump was the one pushing powell to lower rates
-“farmers are still struggling” what evidence do you have to support this claim? the article mentions how ranchers are having a great year
-don’t love how the administration handled the epstein files, but does it really matter anymore? if you pretend to care so much about child abuse, then you should be thrilled with the work the FBI has done so far this year
-the big, beautiful bill cut spending, including work requirements for medicaid which will have a huge effect
-to compare trump to biden on the ukraine/russia war is so ridiculous. trump only supports peace and i believe he’ll get it
-sounds like a good investment in order to preserve a democratic ally in south america
-massie is nothing but a grandstander. go do media if you want to be an all-or-nothing idealist. that’s not how legislators should act
-if you think trump is “owned” by anyone, you’re delusional
-just flat out wrong. name me a bad pick and why
-monuments to himself? making stuff up at this point. nothing wrong with privately funding a ballroom which will be used for years to come
long story short, you don’t actually know what you’re talking about.

If you are a fan of free markets prospering around the world, and not just some abstract idea of them, then we want Argentina to succeed, and this could be one of their only hopes.
We don’t want all of South America in bed with China. Argentina is a good friend, a pro western nation (there aren’t many of those lefts)

I don’t think we should import beef, we have plenty. We say “buy American,” well, this isn’t it. I’ll support a local beef farm I found in Folsom.
