Hell, a lot of the time that’s all you see is the PA.
Does her Doctor not make rounds in the hospital, or performs surgeries on certain days?

Number 3 checking in. Depends on what kind of PA you become, but my gig is exceptional.

The wife just got a job as a NP. We have 0 debt from her undergrad and graduate work and the offer she accepted was significantly higher than the top 25% of earners they have listed. DFW area. She got a freaking awesome offer and it isn't even working nights.

I got a developer job last year so we're sitting good in the top 5 jobs.

Physician assistant comes in at No. 3,

this should #1

easy work, hardly any school, decent pay, no responsiblity

my wife says she should have done the easy route to avoid half the school and all the residency

NP is the better option over a PA IMO.

You have the ability to be a true independent practioner depending on the state. A PA is always hitched to the physician, unlike a NP.

We got snubbed. Without IT, today's society would grind to a standstill like Y2K.

IT Managers deserve a top ten spot.

Some figures are grossly off.

I do not know a single surgeon making less than $208k...OMFS, OB, Anesthesia, and general surgery median at $208K?.... yeah, no.

yeah, I don't know what all factors they use to come up with these figures but what they've posted for the median income in my field is the starting salary where I work, and similar at our competitors

Yeah. Those salaries all seem really low to me.

Software dev’s are well paid for sure, and it’s a great field to be in, but that median salary doesn’t mention that the vast majority of those jobs are on the west coast. Anywhere else, you aren’t hitting that until you are senior level.

Not bad for playing cards and surfing the internet the entire shift.

Those salaries are way off for physicians.

I am a psychiatrist and I have not seen a job offer of less than 300k for the last decade. You can make 250k just doing part time contract work for the government or insurance companies these days.

A mean salary of 208k? How do they get that number?

my wife is as well

and she just signed her first contract, and it is no where near 208K, thank goodness

psychiatrists are high demand right now, which of course drives salaries up
