NEW YORK (AP) — There is little evidence that the protests that erupted after George Floyd’s death caused a significant increase in U.S. coronavirus infections, according to public health experts.

quote:

That city has seen increased cases in the last month, but health officials say they can't attribute it to any particular reason other than people socializing and returning to normal activities without wearing masks or taking other precautions. So far, protests don't seem to be a real factor.

So according to these hand picked talking heads, the rise in Covid cases is definitely not because thousands of protesters were in close quarters and not social distancing while they were rioting and protesting.

The problem is that all of us normal people went to bars and restaurants. That's unacceptable behavior when the economy is recovering from the Covid shut down.

These assholes have an agenda. They are not even trying to appear honest anymore.

I mean, it's pretty well established that it doesn't spread outdoors as well as indoors.

That said, the idea that protests had nothing to do with the spread is preposterous.

There is a really big difference between indoor without masks vs outdoor with masks so they're not completely wrong.

But hey let's shut down the beaches for 4th of July weekend anyway

Only people celebrating racist holidays like Memorial day and 4th of July spread COVID. Oh and also people going to the beach, it's their fault too.

I read an article from a Colorado paper that said that the protests actually helped the disease not spread.

Nah. Not getting me on that one. I read just yesterday that I am supposed to wear my mask even when outdoors.

It only spreads in churches, restaurants, bars, and independent stores.

Riots, protests, Wal Mart and Target are Covid-free zones.

bullshite

Target is Covid-free because those frickers looted all the Covid. Then burned the stores to the ground.

You really should be focusing on all the people wanting to close beaches and parks but allowing protests and riots.

It’s probably both, but to disregard protests completely is dishonest.

It’s very apparent that being in enclosed and potentially crowded areas is a huge risk for this virus.

Timeline of the “uptick” in young people lines up with the protests as well, however. And who knows how many contact tracing programs weren’t asking about protest activity like New York supposedly did (not?) for theirs.

And it is not just the mass protests themselves. It is the traveling in groups, pre and post protest socializing, pot smoking, fricking, etc. You get the picture. The protests were the classic super spreader events. The attempts by the media to downplay this are comical.

I am at a point where I assume that every media story about Covid or Donald Trump is pure bullshite.

Oh but the normal people patronizing restaurants, beaches, parks and bars that have been forced to shut down by our draconian state governments are the ones causing the problem.

This is completely insulting to our intelligence. No one actually believes this crap.

Lol. Even Black Lives Matter says the protests spread the virus. One of the South Carolina organizers publicly asked people to stay home if they're sick and to take precautions at marches.

Pretty easy to not have evidence of something when you very intentionally don't look for it.
