So far, protests don't seem to be a real factor
Great. If thousands of people standing hip to hip without masks, shouting, spitting and sweating doesn’t spread Covid at all, nothing will. So there is no justifiable reason to shutdown anything going forward.

I'm not a fan of contact tracing but if they are going to do it, don't exclude asking about protests. I'm sure this is the standard in most liberal cities.

The hundreds of contact tracing workers hired by the city under de Blasio’s new “test and trace” campaign have been instructed not to ask anyone who’s tested positive for COVID-19 whether they recently attended a demonstration, City Hall confirmed to THE CITY.
“No person will be asked proactively if they attended a protest,” Avery Cohen, a spokesperson for de Blasio, wrote in an emailed response to questions by THE CITY.

There is a really big difference between indoor without masks vs outdoor with masks so they're not completely wrong.
Because every protestor was wearing a mask right

If that's the case why are they forcing people to wear masks?

Only people celebrating racist holidays like Memorial day and 4th of July spread COVID. Oh and also people going to the beach, it's their fault too.
You forgot racist events such as high school graduation parties.

And they were never in close quarters, indoors or outdoors...

It's more the nature of what they were doing. If you are rioting, the virus doesn't bother you. Masks are really only superfluous at that point...which is why the protesters weren't bothering with the recommended social distancing measures.

THE BIG NEWS MEDIA'S TEMPER TANTRUM
Cal Thomas, Los Angeles Times SyndicateTHE ORLANDO SENTINEL
November 27, 1994
To hear the big news media tell it, Nov. 8 was Armageddon, Doomsday and the end of civilization as we've known it. And there has been no let-up in the three weeks since the election.
ABC's Peter Jennings slandered the voters, comparing them to toddlers throwing a fit. "It's clear that anger controls the child and not the other way around," said the Canadian-born Jennings in a radio commentary. "The voters had a temper tantrum. . . . The nation can't be run by an angry 2-year-old."

Sad and sick that tax paying contributing business owners are suffering at the hands of incompetent foolish politicians.

So, outdoor concerts and festivals should be good to go, no?

If this spike is from the protests that should mean the numbers should start going down soon.

I don't even waste ant time on the MSM. Don't watch or believe anything they put out.

If it doesn’t spread by protests then it doesn’t spread by being in a damn restaurant or one of other countless things they restricted the past four fricking months.

They will infect other people.

I mean, it's pretty well established that it doesn't spread outdoors as well as indoors.
That said, the idea that protests had nothing to do with the spread is preposterous.
It’s nearly impossible to have fact based convos that also have some nuance to them on here.
