Remember when they estimated 3 months before Kabul fell when anyone with a brain knew it would be like a week at best.
When troop levels were ordered down to 2,500 we lost touch with everything and were literally just sitting at Bagram for a year.

And we seriously need to look at the usefulness of our Special Forces. We spent billions of dollars and countless years training Afghan and Iraqi armies and quite frankly, ISIS and the Taliban were better fighters at the end.
The ANA was garbage. The problem was we had no idea they had cut a deal with the Taliban to roll over. Thats a black eye on the intel community.

How useless are our intelligence agencies?
Bro, the taliban won't take over Afghanistan for like a month after we bail. All these lies about taking over in 72 hours is just Russian misinformation. Next thing you'll tell me is that we'll be asking the taliban to provide security for the outer perimeter during the evacuation.

The same cabal of warmongering pundits, foreign policy specialists and government officials, year after year, debacle after debacle, smugly dodge responsibility for the military fiascos they orchestrate. They are protean, shifting adroitly with the political winds, moving from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party and then back again, mutating from cold warriors to neocons to liberal interventionists. Pseudo-intellectuals, they exude a cloying Ivy League snobbery as they sell perpetual fear, perpetual war and a racist worldview, where the lesser breeds of the earth only understand violence.
They are pimps of war, puppets of the Pentagon, a state within a state, and the defense contractors who lavishly fund their think tanks — Project for the New American Century, American Enterprise Institute, Foreign Policy Initiative, Institute for the Study of War, the Atlantic Council and the Brookings Institution. Like some mutant strain of an antibiotic-resistant bacteria, they cannot be vanquished. It does not matter how wrong they are, how absurd their theories, how many times they lie or denigrate other cultures and societies as uncivilized or how many murderous military interventions go bad. They are immovable props, the parasitic mandarins of power vomited up in the dying days of any empire, including ours, leaping from one self-defeating catastrophe to the next.
This is perhaps the best linguistic throttling of American imperialists I've ever read. Donald Trump should rightly be remembered as the man who purged the neocons out of the Republican Party. Now they've wormed their way back into the Democratic Party. Funny how the progs in this country will preach critical race theory here and get offended at the slightest racial statement, but yet ally themselves politically with people whose entire life is consumed with murdering brown people in the Middle East. People like Bill Kristol, Max Boot and David Frum are seriously despicable people.

W and his people were trying to get us into Iraq before 9/11.
With hindsight we've seen the world was better with Saddam in power than out. Also the same people that we went after in Afghanistan are back in charge so that makes that another Vietnam. Though I don't see them welcoming us with open arms with cheap tourism in the decades to come.

The reason for that is that instead of combat we were busy training them in this:

Al Sadr was able to hold things somewhat together but if he bails (leaves the country) the Sunny are about to run wild.

Someone brush off the Balkans because Joe is going to watch a major war break out there again next.
If this turns out to be anything comparable to the shite show in Afghanistan and that also happens, why wouldn’t China invade Taiwan at this point? It’ll take them a while to get their ducks in a row, but unlike most places, the weather is great year round in Taiwan so they can attack whenever they choose.

Reports are that Elvis has left the Country. He resigned so that Maliki could return to power. Well Maliki just left the country too.
