I can sympathize with anyone that wants to protest a legislative body that hasn't acted in the best interest of the American people for a long time. IMO occupying the capital is not unjustified, especially after that pathetic charade of a Covid stimulus package that they passed after nearly a year of allowing authoritarian state governments to forcibly shut down businesses and restrict social gatherings.

But I don't think that's why they did what they did. They are pissed because an election didn't go their way. So what they are doing is not appropriate, not justified, and way out of line. The ones that stole things or broke windows should be prosecuted.

Or maybe not. So many rioters and looters got a pass by lenient DA's and judges. Maybe the rule of law just doesn't matter anymore. I'm conflicted on this because the rule of law is so selectively enforced.

As to your second part, big tech is a big part of what's driven this radicalism of the american public...both sides. A guy I know who works for Google admits it. The way the algorithms work, all of them essentially create an echo chamber for people.

Say someone is a Trump supporter and clicks on a video about the election, and then a video about Trump's claims of it being stolen, and then a conspiracy theory video, the algorithms will continue to feed more and more of that content to that person. It's essentially radicalizing them by feeding them just content they engage with. And it also gives that perception that "the evidence is everywhere" and "it's what everyone is talking about and believes".

Not sure why you're laughing. But you believe fake polls, so nor surprise you don't know words also

Exactly. And this board of keyboard warriors saying they refused to wear masks and bitching about the lockdowns and rioting are surprised these people are pissed. Those riots were allowed to happen across the country burning down businesses but the police should totally shut this one down immediately. Screw that. They need a taste of their own medicine.

I don't think you can overestimate how loyal a lot of his supporters are to him. I've never seen anything like it in my life.. And part of it is... because like you said he is charismatic. He draws people in..
