Urban English is becoming more and more common. And accepted. Correcting a black person from using broken English is considered racist. Correcting a white person from using broken english is considered mean.

Stereotypes and all that

Video not available. I was looking forward to listening to some Merle.

bullshite. employers want competent people. Names with too many apostrophes or nonsense spellings are forbears of a background which, from experience, does not foster competence often.
But don't make it a racial thing. There are hard workers of every stripe and creed. I work alongside these people every day and it is NOT a race thing. It's a culture thing.

Get ready to be labeled a racist.
The point of the thread isn't important only that it doesn't painting minorities in a positive light.
And that's very important to some here it appears.

Tough.

I know a lot of people that can turn it on and off but I know a lot that can't.

would you expect the said applicant to be able to correctly piece together a sentence?
What you expect the applicant pool to be and what it actually is are often very different. For now there are enough "normal" people that you can weed that grammatically challenged out, but after another decade or 2 of 140 character messages and emojies, good luck.

A lot of linguists consider it a different dialect. Remember the Ebonics movement in the 90's?
Geechee is the creole language of the Gullah people in South Carolina. While it does use a lot of African loan words, the language largely resembles many of the urban and jive speech patterns. LINK

Is this McDonald's in rural Utah or Idaho?

No. I am only saying what I posted. That when all is equal, including the experience and education, the majority of folks would rather hire a white person than a black person. The controlled studies support that.
So what you are saying : It's not racism, but an intuitive choice of best job candidates based on names, which might be a sign of their type of upbringing?

The ones that know how to turn it on and off are perfect,as long as they understand the proper time to do that, People that communicate with everyone are perfect for a job like that, and a person like that would understand, that a job interview would be the time to use fairly correct English.
Now somebody can jump on me, for my run-on sentence and poor punctuation.
