Upside/Downside to auto wreck claim on other driver?

I got called by the claims agent handling my wreck from Saturday before last. The other driver is accepting liability, and it turns out that his insurer is the same as my insurer.
The claims agent said I can either continue with my claim, or it can be moved to the other party's claim. This would keep it off my personal claims records.
Are there ant insurance claims people here that can tell be the upside of moving to the other claim, and the downside of this, too.
Is there any upside to staying with my claim instead of moving it to the other claim? My car is likely being totaled.

Get it moved
ETA - it will keep your insurance from going up.

At some point you have to just self insure.

You DO NOT want a claim on your insurance if you have a choice.

There is only upside to moving it to his claim, if you can.

As others said, definitely get it moved. Let the other driver's rates go up.
Are you dealing with an ant infestation problem?

As others have said, all upside to not having a claim on your policy and having it on the other guys. Not only for rates but your policies could be dropped in the future for too many claims.
Always file a claim on the other party if you have the option.

Get the claim moved to the other party's coverage and ask for documentation from your shared carrier to substantiate that this procedure is actually followed.

The other driver's insurance paying for my claim is great. You won't have to pay a deductible.
The last wreck I had, the other driver's insurance paid. That should have been enough to make me happy, but on top of that, the lady who hit me was married to a Texas Rangers executive. The check they cut was from Major League Baseball with Bud Selig's signature. I didn't even want to deposit it.
My insurance paid another claim from an accident I had that wasn't my fault, then sued the insurer of the lady who hit me. She had actually let her insurance lapse, so they sued her. Five or six years later they cut me a check for my deductible from that accident. They had finally gotten the money from her.

Thanks to all. Was just checking. Anytime a claims agent says "you should do this" I am skeptical.

Deductibles are usually waived when the two cars involved are insured by the same company.
It shouldn't cause your rates to go up if you filed through your policy, as it would be reimbursed by the other drivers.
Shouldn't. But if it makes you feel better to go thorough the other guys, then go for it.
However, it sounds like the claim is already filed on your policy, it just won't show any payments made.

Yeah, agent told me going through the other would save me my $250 deductible.

I would imagine putting it on his claim would be the wise way to go, then it is not held against you on record.

You have no clue -
A no fault claim will not affect your insurance premium. Example: I had 2 cars & a Harley flooded August 2016. $100K in claims & my premiums have actually gone down from 2016.

That's a comp claim. Act of God etc. My wife owns an independent insurance agency

What's the difference between that and a not at fault collision claim?
Neither would be your fault, simply using the coverage for which you've paid.

Whoever is at fault, their insurance needs to handle everything, if you feel it isn't. Call a PIA.

It will still show as a collision claim. Comp claims (i.e. flood, tree falls on your vehicle) won't generally raise your rates. Plus the deductible will still apply. If he switches to the at fault party he won't have to pay anything
