This is the product of a generation growing up and having a “safe space” and “emotional support” animals. They think it is their right to not “feel” threatened and that their viewpoint is the only viewpoint, and that any differing viewpoint is “hate”

Up until this point in their lives they have never been told "no" or disciplined in their lives. Our feckless university administrations have either been too afraid to push back against these trust-fund radicals or outright supported them.

No better sign of the times than people taking a job and then proceeding to focus 100x more on the company culture, equity, diversity, etc. than work. Then when they get fired, they're irate and confused.

It's amazing. They've been trained this way. They really think the world works like that, or should.

It's preposterous.

Shotwell’s full letter to employees:

quote:

quote:
You may have received an unsolicited request from a small group of SpaceX employees for your signature on an “open letter” yesterday and your participation in a related survey. Based on diverse employee feedback, this has upset many. That is, the letter, solicitations and general process made employees feel uncomfortable, intimidated and bullied, and/or angry because the letter pressured them to sign onto something that did not reflect their views. Employees also complained that it interfered with their ability to focus on and do their work. We have 3 launches within 37 hours for critical satellites this weekend, we have to support the astronauts we delivered to the ISS and get cargo Dragon back to the flight-ready, and after receiving environmental approval early this week, we are on the cusp of the first orbital launch attempt of Starship. We have too much critical work to accomplish and no need for this kind of overreaching activism — our current leadership team is more dedicated to ensuring we have a great and ever-improving work environment than any I have seen in my 35-years career.

We solicit and expect our employees to report all concerns to their leadership, senior management, HR, or Legal. But blanketing thousands of people across the company with repeated unsolicited emails and asking them to sign letters and fill out unsponsored surveys during the work day is unacceptable, goes against our documented handbook policy, and does not show the strong judgement needed to work in this very challenging space transportation sector. We performed an investigation and have terminated a number of employees involved.

I am sorry for this distraction. Please stay focused on the SpaceX mission, and use your time at work to do your best work. This is how we will get to Mars

I had not read up on Starship. WOW thats going to be amazing. Payload of 100 tons (220,000 lb) is a lot of material.

And it can be turned around and reused quickly like his other rockets.

Impressive.

the letter was the result of a “month of dedicated hard work and soliciting feedback to try and make sure we got as much input as possible.”

So the employee just admitted they spent "over a month" of their time which was supposed to be dedicated to SpaceX work to this letter. Bye Felicia.

Another example of the left not knowing what they are talking about, yet running off at their mouths : Jemele Hill called Musk a white, right wing nationalist.Musk financially supported & voted for Obama.

Elon seems to want to be an Absolute Monarch. He could become a very dangerous man if allowed to be one.

Ok, explain this.

The man owns his business and fired employees.

Are business owners not allowed to do that?

The open letter, first reported by The Verge, described Musk’s behavior as “a frequent source of distraction and embarrassment for us, particularly in recent weeks.

Owner signs your checks but you think the owner is an embarrassment and will let the whole world know how you feel about the owner.

What the frick is wrong with people? In what world does this NOT end up in your job being terminated?

Please, for the love of humanity, explain the downvotes. Or just be typical keyboard “warriors”. I know you won’t. Too many cowards have it so easy to just hit a button on a screen. Thanks for proving my point.

What an odd endorsement of Elon Musk. A Musk monarchy would most assuredly be superior to the current oligarchic shitshow we are in now.
