I spent the weekend searching for a new one. There are none to be found and orders placed now have a July delivery date. Freezers are the new toilet paper.

We have been searching too, not because we are hoarding but because we just want the damn thing for a little extra space.

They’ve been out of stock since all of this began. You cannot find a freezer right now in stock anywhere in any shape or form.

Upright freezers are inefficient af and suck arse. Get a legit chest freezer. Your shite will stay frozen even two days after a power outage. Upright freezers are usually purchased by women and a large number of the homosexual community. They are an abomination.

You must not be butch enough to defrost.

That sucks, I’ll be lucky if mine makes it to summer time. I planned on buying another one soon

I have one of each and prefer the convenience of the upright.

No luck at local owned businesses either? I was in one of our local places for a stove part and I saw they had at least one upright. I wasn't looking for one, so I don't know what kind of inventory they had.

Got a chest freezer last month from Lowe’s. Wasn’t easy too find one and took a week or two to come in. Did see a few online that were sky high on price.

Good luck finding one. We had the foresight to order a small chest freezer in mid-March. The first one we ordered was damaged so they didn't ship it to us. They could not find the exact replacement so they sent us a larger and higher priced model at no extra charge. Still took a month for it to get here.

There are actually a lot of freezers available in the $1,500-$2,500 range or pro-restaurant supply style.. ..also those 1 sq. foot apartment sized that you can get one carton of ice cream in and that's it. In mid-March I spent over 2 hours trying to find a typical $500 - $1000 freezer just to expand my side-by-side fridge freezer space. I exhausted every big box, Amazon/Wafair type, department store, hardware / appliance store, and every thing else I could find in a Google searches for freezers...nothing.

I'd never heard of Facebook Marketplace but someone told me to try there... it's your best bet. They don't last more than a couple of days but some nice, used freezers come up often if that will do.

Apparently upper/lower ice makers in refrigerators are going away too. Bought a new French door fridge last year and ended up waiting about a month for them to ship one with dual ice makers in from somewhere. It was a major PITA. Only one place (Lowe’s) even offered it as an option, and then only in a special model made for them by LG.

FWIW, the dual ice maker setup is the bomb! The bottom makes that super-hard translucent ice that lasts forever in a drink. Good times.
