I was a huge fan for a long time, but you're spot on with your points.

A lot of excellent name brands have abandoned them, and the Chinese junk has taken over.

I could put up with that, to a degree, but the customer service has went to hell as well.

Your return shipment, which is already prepaid for and doesn't cost you, will help pay for several people's paychecks that rely on shipping services.

I'm sure the $8 batteries aren't really that big of a deal to the Amazon corporation, but that little solvent can affect a lot of people in a positive way.

It's becoming more of a pain to shop on Amazon because of the Chinese junk and fake reviews. Before buying, I now have to check how long it's been listed on Amazon, look at the length of time between reviews and the most recent ones, and review the negative reviews for key words that consistently stick out

Even for something simple as a floor fan, it takes going through this process on 4-5 different items until I find a listing that doesn't appear to be fake or crap.

Long story short: I ordered some watch batteries that took 3 days to come when it should have taken one day. I called and complained. I think the person I talked to must have gotten confused because the day after my complaint I received another order of the same batteries (this was on Friday).

I just got an email from Amazon telling me they need me to return the batteries or I'll be charged. They sent a shipping label and all. This is a small, but notable inconvenience and I think it's STUPID that a billion dollar company needs their $8 batteries back, especially when the mistake was theirs. And frankly, I don't want to be bothered. WWTOTD?

I'm calling back tomorrow to bitch about all of this, because why the hell not. It should also be noted that a few months ago I ordered a small vacuum ($36 value) from Black and Decker. They accidentally sent two, I called offering to return it and they told me instead to donate it to someone in need. So, this $8 battery b.s. is especially laughable.

If you don't send them their batteries back, it will go on your permanent record. When one of Bezos' holdings buys your company, you will be sent home immediately and not even allowed to keep your stapler.

Don't let this snowball.

So YOU called and started all of this. You should know when you order something online from across the country there is a chance it doesn't arrive on time. If you really needed this watch battery in 1 day get your lazy arse to the store and pick it up yourself.

Instead you wanted to be a whiny entitled brat and waste everyone's time calling to complain. Their customer service sucks because they deal with clowns like you all day. Just return the items you didn't pay for that resulted from you calling and being a dick.

Do you realize Amazon uses the term "guaranteed delivery date" in the checkout process?

If Amazon guarantees a delivery date and doesn't make it, they should be held accountable.

I would send them back and then call to do the bitching.

You can’t call on the basis of being inconvenienced because the call itself will likely be more trouble than returning it. Do the deed, you got something to bitch about

Who said that's what happened?

It's just a whiny post. If you needed a watch battery that bad then go get it. Guess he learned his lesson. Complaining to some guy in India isn't going to do shite. Too many people are looking for something for free for the mildest of inconveniences. I'm kind of glad this guy got burned for wasting everyone's time over a fricking watch battery. No doubt he was trolling for something for free that's probably why the poor Indian accidently sent him another one.

You want to teach Amazon a lesson? Get off the couch and go buy your watch battery from a store down the street. But you will just keep ordering off of Amazon and keep complaining to some guy in New Delhi

I’ve never had Amazon ask me to send anything back the few times I’ve had a problem with something. I’ve offered to, and they’ve always just said it’s ok, don’t worry about it, and sent me another one.

That's why Amazon is where they are and Black and Decker is where they are.

Is this "gauranteed" or estimated. And shite happens. Was this guy in flooded out Houston? Who knows.

Amazon also notes the guarantee isn't valid when situations arise that are beyond its control. It states that "delivery scans might be inaccurate," as well — which could theoretically absolve Amazon of any blame in many cases.

quote:

Importantly, Amazon 2-day shipping could also take longer than you'd think. Most customers assume the clock starts as soon as they place an order, but that's not true. In fact, Amazon notes that if items aren't in stock or otherwise immediately available, the 2-day period doesn't start until the items actually ship. Case in point: User dmiles521 was told that if an item was in stock and Prime eligible, and shipped a week after the order date, as long as it arrived within two business days, it would still count as meeting the 2-day shipping guarantee. Meaning it wouldn't be eligible for a refund.

OP was just looking for his payout because a $8 watch battery was late and he got burned
