Update Perps Arrested: ATM Tech Robbed at Lafayette Capital One

My neighborhood was blocked off yesterday at noon. Twelve police cars/K9 and drones flying around. I asked and was told that an "incident" had happened and the perps had abandoned the car at the entrance.
"The incident" was at the Capital One bank at Kaliste Saloom and Ambassador. I saw them putting trays into evidence bags and photographing them. I guess this is where the money was.

From KATC:
A maintenance technician was robbed Friday while servicing an ATM in Lafayette.
On November 3, 2023, at 10:25 am, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a Capital One bank located at 4416 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy., in regards to a robbery in progress. Upon arrival it was determined that an ATM technician was conducting maintenance on an ATM at the location, when the technician was approached by two unarmed men traveling on foot, according to a spokesperson for the Department. The two suspects then proceeded to rob the ATM of an undisclosed amount of U.S. paper currency. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
Investigators were called out to the scene and are working to develop leads. An update shall be provided as leads are determined.
---
Update:
"LAFAYETTE, La. (KPLC) - Two Breaux Bridge men have been arrested after being accused of robbing an ATM while it was being serviced by a technician, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
Officials say both Jermaine Clay, 40, and Daquaylon Williams, 22, were arrested without incident and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for robbery.
The two men are accused of robbing an ATM at the Capitol One Bank on 4416 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy. on Nov. 3, when a technician was conducting maintenance on the machine.

I stopped to get some cash there yesterday at noon. Cops everywhere and crime scene tape around an open drive-thru atm.
So I went inside. Asked the teller if something had happened and her only reply was “yeah something happened”

That's my bank too.
KADN was the only news source to mention the race of the perps:
This location is The Capitol One. Upon arrival it was determined that an ATM technician was conducting maintenance on an ATM at the location, when the technician was approached by two unarmed black males traveling on foot. The two suspects then proceeded to rob the ATM of an undisclosed amount of U.S. paper currency (money).

Probably the ones in the Spider-Man suit that hang around that corner collecting money for “ovarian cancer”

I just left a Capital One by the house and there was a ATM repair guy on location. I was thinking to myself that it's strange that they only have one person to do service calls like that instead of having a pair of folks. Doesn't seem safe.

I thought this was going to be something about Aggy and Texas Tech.

And in Houston:
Man who raps about ATM robbery, accused of robbing an ATM technician.

You would think they would have a security officer with the repair guy while he worked.
I worked inside a bank for a while. After hours, there was some sort of vault/safe at the front door used by some companies to leave large deposits. There was a person I saw frequently leaving money in the evenings, but he was always with a police officer.

Probaly the busiest intersection in the parish, I imagine there are hundreds of cams in a 1/2 mile radius . They got in a car somewhere…

"They got in a car somewhere…"
Agreed. They may have appeared on foot. But they abandoned the car and there were woods to run into. Just wondering if they had a second get away car waiting. And was the abandoned car stolen?

I like good ole bank robberies.

These animals break the ATM’s (jam them with something so you can’t get a card in), then they wait for the techs to come for repair. When the tech opens the ATM, they ambush.
It’s usually done in the hood, but this one was decent area and broad daylight.

Every time I glance at the page I read this from the corner of my eye as aTm playing ULL in the Capital One Bowl

I saw a tech working on an ATM the other day, and there was an armed guard standing behind him just eying the area. I figured that would be standard.

Unarmed? So they just asked politely for the money?
