Yes I have and seen the development also.
My property my grandfather left me that he owned in 1962 he paid $750. Today for just a few acres zoned commercial I have received a lot of offers. Most are between $4.9 to $5.7 million. At this time I do not want to sell. Eventually I may as my relatives who lived there moved on.

Zachary is running a $3 million deficit.
Sorry, you don't get to throw that stone when your BR budget is being bankrolled by the St. George area. It's precisely like stealing cable, water and electricity from your neighbor, and then saying your neighbor lacks the financial sense to own his home.

Y'all need to find a new catchphrase
Ah yes. Of course. Help me out with your mental gymnastics here... Status quo is perfectly descriptive and true of your plan. However "Better Together" uses the OFFICIAL catch phrase "Say no to the breakaway" when it's patently false. They are not breaking away from anything. The only thing St George has "together" now with Baton Rouge is their money. Which is why they are fighting it tooth and nail.

I assure you there are more people moving in than out
As long as those areas continue to be tops in public education, people will continue to flock there, just as they are flocking to Ascension

Recent college grads without a family might want more of city life. That's fine.
But once you marry and start a family other factors come into play and many young families see a need for a home with a yard, a good school, etc.
Often time the best and most affordable place to find this is in the suburbs. That's the way it was with my wife and I.

"I have no alters"....you also have NO PLAN....lol
Can you ADMIT, that EBRP is on a long and distinct spiral heading downward ? Lead by a failing school system and an out of control crime rate...infrastructure collapsing and middle class exodus !
PLEASE...share your vision/path going forward !!!

I want this thing to happen but I’m no longer in the proposed area so I can’t sign. I signed last time though. Keep up the fight!
Those areas not included in this petition effort can request annexation into St. George after incorporation. Thanks for the support.

Change for the sake of change is not, and never has been, a solid political movement.
I think we can all agree that something has to change though, right? Surely there's nobody happy with the way things are in Baton Rouge. And don't give me the empty promise feel good speech (with no plan of action) about uniting Baton Rouge that SWB loves to do.

St. George is just a pathetic ruse for racist honkies to try and take public schools away from everyone so their kids don't have to go to school with brown kids.

Now you are in fantasy land
Come on now...no one out of state is gonna move to Baton Rouge unless they have family ties there.
You need to put the pipe down, and visit the real world.

WRONG, we don't have to sell YOU on anything at all. We just keep delivering the message, and when idiots like you go ape shite and start spewing about how much the taxes will go up, and how racist SG is, we get more and more support. So please, keep up the great work. Maybe you'll get a plaque next to the statues of John Delgado and Sharon Weston-Broome in front of the SG City Hall for those who made the new city possible.

True, but it’s much more comparable than Austin and the other cities that were mentioned.

That’s total BS. There are 3 little boys who live next door who are black that play with my son and go to the same school. There’s another little boy down the street that he plays with who’s black and goes to his school. The key is that they actually live in the school zone - they’re not bussed in from a different part of the parish. So please stop trying to make it about race (ala Broome & Gravy) because it’s not.
Oh, and by the way - their parents signed the petition, too. They all want better for their kids, which is why they moved to this area.

Please define "close".
SG approx. 86,000
Sandy Springs approx, 106K

So.... how do you propose we change the crime and education problems we have as well as stemming the exodus of middle class to the surrounding parishes?
if st George isn’t the answer, what is? What is YOUR alternative?
How would magildachunks fix the exodus and keep the middle class in the parish?

I see this all over.
Good people who work hard for their families want many of the same things for their family no matter what their skin color is.
There are examples of that everywhere. It's like that on my street.

You obviously haven't been to Central or Zachary lately. Both are circling the bowl. Two of my best friends from college moved out of there in the last year and relocated to New Roads.
And both are still light years ahead of Baton Rouge.
Remind me.... what are the public schools and crime rates in Zachary and central?
Now. What are the public schools (non magnet. Normal. Standard. Schools) and crime rates like in Baton Rouge?
Are they better in Baton Rouge? Or better in central and Zachary?
