Wyatt Earp would not have stood for such a stupid policy.

That was per a FB comment so I don’t know for sure, said EBRSO is self insured & Health Scope handled the claims

I do know that BRFD is self insured & BCBS handles the claims so I’m guessing it’s the same thing, just a different company to handle the paperwork

We get calls from Lynn McDermott, Nurse Case Manager of Hines & Associates, Inc. to keep it on our minds; plus the calls I’ve received from Collection Agencies wanting immediate payment of past due medical bills. Please someone give me a good (just a good, doesn’t have to be great) reason why after a YEAR, this insurance company can’t get a handle on paying bills due to knowing Nick has been listed under an alias…

What does any of this mean? It sounds like she needs to get with HR and the insurance company and get this figured out.

Insurance isn't fun to handle, but it can be done if you stay on top of it. I understand they've got a lot going on, but that's what needs to be done.

Is he saying someone came to OLOL to finish the job? That should be a HUGE story by itself. They need to say more on that.

As for Nick, I feel horrible for the guy. I just can't imagine he's happy if he's fully cognizant. He probably just feels trapped. The man deserved none of that shite, and he deserves everything from the state of Louisiana.

No it means the mom read the drs the riot act after being told her baby was basically dead from unsurvivable gunshots wounds or would be in a veg state forever at best...well she won that round. Now dear FB phase of a very sad story has set in.
Mom if your reading this, me and prolly most baws on here, would prefer to go out in a blaze of glory!

I just find it odd that they've portrayed everything as nothing but positive strides, then drop this bomb about how fricked over they've been. I'm not saying they're lying, it's just that the way this story has been given to us until now doesn't match what that post says.

Our priorities and morals as a nation are severely fricked.

$18K raised for a hard working, honest man that almost paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. And one that will never have the same quality of life again.

And on the other hand, nearly $800K raised for a deadbeat father, convicted sexual predator, a rap sheet 25x longer than his educational transcripts and selling bootleg CDs after midnight "while trying to provide for his family" - the same family that had him living in a church homeless shelter.

Somebody at the insurance agency, whether it be worker's comp or private insurance, needs a grade A arse kicking. frick those people for denying this man the care he needs. There should be no expense spared for helping Nick.

I know its been posted already, but IMO it can't be posted enough. Nick's Gofundme

That happens more than people would imagine at OLOL.
My Dad was in the ICU with a brain tumor in 2010. There was a gunshot victim a couple rooms down. We got locked in his room by police for about an hour because some thug shite stain was roaming the hospital looking to finish off his victim. He was eventually arrested in the hospital but now that OLOL is the new EKL, this is fairly common from what we were told that day by the nurses and cops that were in the ICU with us.
I have not and will not allow anyone I love to step foot in that hospital if there is another option.

We are all to blame for pushing for for profit healthcare.
Single payer is the only way to go.

This is just infuriating due to it being the sad truth. Cities burn, freeways get blocked, people get hurt because some a-hole got what was coming to him due to his lifestyle. A police officer gets shot and the donations pale in comparison. Not to swing this to a political thread, but people wonder why Trump got elected. This is a microcosm of why. Poor Nick.

Sad to say, but what has been described is the norm for those who are not very very wealthy. Sounds to me like they really need a team of personal injury attorneys or similar to stir up some stuff.

I did see something where it said the biggest VA expenses were due treatments of injuries that would have caused death a generation before.

Family might consider sending this information to local newspaper editors.
