This breaks my heart, cancer is the worst. I’m pulling for you two. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Prayers sent. My 80+ year old mother was diagnosed with Stage Four lung cancer two years ago. She’s been going to MD Anderson since. She got her PET scan yesterday and met with her oncologist today. No new growths and no activity. We’re blessed.

I hate to hear this. I’m so sorry.

Lisa Quinn and Kelli Davis were Arkansas metastatic trailblazers in the advocacy of research for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Lisa lived 5-6 years and Kelli got just over 10.

May they rest in peace and I will forever keep their memory alive.

Sorry to hear for your situation. I cannot imagine what is going through your head right now and the emotions you are dealing with and I had a sister with a similar diagnosis recently for metastatic breast cancer. Stage 4 here as well.

I’ve collaborated with cancer centers up in Seattle and you are right, it is a great city in that regard. Lots of strong options there. As was previously mentioned, some of the treatment options are changing monthly and depending on how her biopsies showed for markers, seems like hers tested hormone positive if they are considering hormonal therapy. If the tumor is HER2+, several antibody therapies and combinations are showing great promise now for those.

God willing they will find a strong treatment approach that will be effective and work out. Also, don’t let the idea they are calling it incurable eliminate your hope. Incurable means that it is impossible to know if it has been irradiated, but does not mean it can’t be. Stay positive for each other and make sure that you take time for yourself obviously. I know you want to be there for her as much as possible and every minute you can, but be there for yourself and give yourself and opportunity to be there for her as long as possible.

God willing you will both beat this. Praying for you two and your family.

I’m so sorry.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer after watching my mom fight osteosarcoma for a year. The same day they did my biopsy I found out she had weeks to live—so I definitely can understand being numb to your own situation when a loved one is going thru it.

Try to make room for yourself if you can.

I just learned last night talking to them it is HER2+. I didn’t understand what that meant but will be researching. Thank you for the info. I’m sure her care team is on it, at least I hope. Thanks brother.
