Yeah we've got ~20 million unemployed right now, unfortunately I think that number goes up unless we get this country back to work. Even then, not all of those jobs will come back and people are going to be hurting for a long time. Looking back on this whole Covid19 thing, I think we'll realize we made a grave miscalculation and went to the "nuclear option" way too fast.

Unfortunately, O&G just happens to be near the front of the line for layoffs. Nature of the industry I guess, but anyone laughing at this is an a-hole who needs to do some serious soul searching. I feel for any American who can't sleep at night because they lost their job and are worried about how they're going to feed their family - and right now there's ~20 million of them in that exact situation.

My point still stands

your point is dull as a butter knife. why did they shut down the huge wind farm in georgetown texas? ohh yea because it was costing twice as much as just buying energy the old fashioned way. 200 million of taxpayer money went into building that. all it did was kill birds

Do some research into the solar plants out in Nevada that have closed down or never really got started.

im sure there are plenty. fact is i would be all for clean renewable energy. its just not there to compete price wise. electric motors are incredible as there are so few moving parts and they are so efficient.

the environmental aspect is also flawed as when we look into how batteries are made. that destroys mother earth mining for nickel

efficient at making oil, but incredibly inefficient at making money and investors have caught on. if not for this steep decline in oil prices, energy co's would have suffered from a lack of liquidity/investment in oil and gas

Get rid of oil subsidies and subsidize the more expensive less efficient green energy!

you have no idea what you are talking about and are just spewing hateful nonsense. the O&G big boys in North America can and have survived recessions in the industry like this because their portfolio is faaar more diverse than just oil. trust me, if BP, Chevron, Shell, and Exxon go under - the rest of the country is already FUUUCKED. but please continue embarrassing yourself.

muh, truck nuts.

LOL @ you thinking the major energy companies in NA are going anywhere.
odds are the expensive solar panels and wind farms you are dreaming for in your progressive green utopia will have a Chevron logo slapped on them.

May expires tomorrow, longs can't take delivery with no storage to speak of. So yeah, front month rekt. That is a crazy carry from May to June. But market is already primarily trading off june, except for some poor souls who carried their May positions thru the weekend
