I can see why the guy shot him. Legally speaking, he is in the clear. No problem there.

bullshite. Once the gun was drawn, subject never advanced. This is still manslaughter all day long, even with Florida’s law.

Sounds like the shooter has extreme anger issues and has threatened to harm people for parking issues at this same store previous to this one.

I said something to a woman one time parked in a handicap space at the post office on Bennington. Not even rude, I was walking in when she came strolling out and started to get in her car and I just said “you know that’s a handicap spot?” She got in her car and hollered at me to come over. I walked to where I could see inside the car and she had a pistol in her hand. She then threw it in reverse and took off. Was pretty surreal that her reaction to my comment was to grab a gun.

This is why I don't say shite to people I don't know. I mind my business. You were being a good citizen, but people are crazy and are willing to draw a gun just because they were offended. I'm not playing that game.

Another Circle A customer, Rick Kelly, told NBC affiliate WFLA that he encountered Drejka in a similar situation a couple of months ago. Kelly said he had pulled into that same handicap spot and Drejka began inspecting his decals to see if he had the right to be there. The situation escalated.

"He was basically threatening to shoot me that day," Kelly said.

Yea he sounds a lot more like Ronald Gasser than someone who legit feared for his life and defended himself.

So...the guy already violently shoved the shooter to the ground...do you then have to wait for him to jump on top and beat your brains in before you "stand your ground?"

I see both sides of the argument, but I see nothing wrong with this shooting.

On another note, did they ever say what caliber he was shot with? It didn't seem to have much knock down to it.

I just read where they want the "racist, stand your ground law" repealed. How is that law racist?

This guy was jot a good man. Anyone willing to escalate a minor argument like this into a physical. Altercation in front of his own kids is a bad person. Aside from the fact they were illegally using a handicap spot which tells you all you need to know.

Doesn’t really sound like either party is good here. The other guy is issuing death threats for parking in a handicap space to lots of people apparently. Dude has been waiting for his chance to shoot someone. That’s not someone who deserves the right to own a weapon.

Parking in handicap spots by those totally not handicapped is a pet peeve of mine and has been for many years. My then 82 year old mother would park anywhere but a handicap spot because she thought others needed them more than her. I got on her all the time about NOT using those designated spaces.

Too many times I see a 6 foot 180 specimen of a man pull into one of those and every damn time I want to puncture his tires. Bastards ought to have their asses whipped.

If this shooter was indeed handicapped and confronted the guy, so be it. I don't blame him. And once the other guy punched him, if he's handicapped, and if he was in fear of his life, I say he should be in the Jaycee Parade come Christmas for ridding society of a scum bag who picks on the infirm.

Sad someone had to lose their life but the assailant picked his poison.
