i'm not sure what's scarier at this point:
The apparent inability to locate and arrest Brian "not a mastermind" Laundrie
or
The possibility that they don't feel like they have enough evidence yet for a murder charge.

I'm curious why the board thinks they have much of anything on BL in the way of capital murder. "Why did you use your dead girls credit card?" "Well, I she wasn't dead when I left her and she always had me hold her ID and CC's because she didn't use a purse"
There are no witnesses, there are no murder weapons, if his DNA was on her that is easily explained away as they were a couple.
Don't get me wrong, he's guilty AF but proving that will be a tough feat in itself IMO

Did they tell cause of death yet? It’s possible that if he strangled her or something along those lines they need his prints/physical measurements to make that connection. But don’t have that without him in custody at any point (if that makes sense).

I don't think the warrant identified whose card he used, but assuming it was hers, I suspect he had her permission to use it while she was alive.

That probably starts the clock running regarding certain criminal laws/procedures. The fraud charges allow them to hold him without starting those clocks. That’s my understanding anyway. No downside to not charging him now.

Make sense, but I would guess it would also up the resources that could be used to find him.

Her family will be on the Dr. Phil show Tues and Wednesday.
Her stepfather calls his parents cowards. He also said he identified her body and mentioned a sweatshirt the he called one of her favorites that she had bought in New York.

They have her body
They have photos of his van 1000 feet away from where her body was found
They have text messages from her phone after she was killed. (They likely also have location data showing the phone was very near his phone at that point)
They have numerous reports including police intervention in domestic violence = they have motive.
You don't actually need a murder weapon to charge or convict.
