I think they could charge him with murder, but they're not going to for whatever reason. Maybe they think once he gets tired of running/hiding, he'll just turn himself in bc it's just a debit card fraud charge. If he's wanted for murder, no way he ever turns himself in willingly.

They have her body

So? There were two other murders nearby as well of which BL was not a suspect.

quote:

They have photos of his van 1000 feet away from where her body was found

Oh now it's his van? Maybe he bolted on her and left her there and someone other than BL killed her.

quote:

They have text messages from her phone after she was killed

Please provide proof that she was dead when those messages were sent. TOD to be determined shortly.

They have numerous reports including police intervention in domestic violence = they have motive.

Only DV (other than the one hiker who allegedly witnessed him touching her) was her on camera admitting she was the batterer. Not the other way around.

*Once again, BL is guilty as sin; however, with what we know (not conjecture) it's an uphill battle to prove he killed her w/out an admission by BL himself*

Why couldnt he just say, “after she died”?

He’s insinuating she was murdered.

Not murdered

Early reports indicate the manner of death was homicide

The cause as yet to be determined.

I’m not confirming she wasn’t murdered

I’m stating that the cause of death has not been confirmed she was murdered.

Feel free to point out the difference.

First sentence of the definition.

"Homicide is an act of a human killing another person."

That's Involuntary Homicide. Homicide implies intent...just like murder does.

I'm curious why the board thinks they have much of anything on BL in the way of capital murder.

They have her body
They have photos of his van 1000 feet away from where her body was found
They have text messages from her phone after she was killed. (They likely also have location data showing the phone was very near his phone at that point)
They have numerous reports including police intervention in domestic violence = they have motive.

You don't actually need a murder weapon to charge or convict.

Maybe I should not be so focused on that word, but capital murder, depending on the state, often requires aggravating circumstances when it involves only one death.
