A lot of Appalachia is dirt-poor. It seems like it would be a perfect place for gentrification.

Agree. You have to do something for a living. Bringing fugitives to justice is a good thing.

9 downvotes for this?
Because it’s not even close. There are many many many threads much longer than this one.

2nd body cam video released : Gabby tells cop BL put his hands on her .
the officers knew this and let him go.
Well this is news. Police let a woman beater go and put him up in a hotel?

are we assuming BL is alive now?
Absolutely he's alive. If he was dead they'd have found him by now. Him and his family don't do thru with all this deception just for him to off himself.

Dude. There's no clear evidence that he hit her. She changes her story several times and everything that they both said lines up with her being the aggressor and him trying to get her off of him, which may have caused a small scratch on her face, which nobody could even see on the the body cam video (at least the original one). He had multiple visible cuts on his face. The cops did what they thought was right based on the information they had. They can't read minds.

I know it's hard to imagine for those living near any moderately sized town, but there are still plenty of places in this country where internet is just unavailable unless you want to pay through the nose for crappy satellite. Even where I am on the fringes of Appalachia internet coverage is spotty.

Eyewitness.

Baby Lyssa said she is finding people in the Carolinas with no internet, TV, etc.
I don’t have internet beyond LTE from Verizon. It’s not as uncommon as you think around here. Most people are content to live their lives simply, not necessarily because they’re poor.
I gave the example of Eric Rudolph as proof that someone with marginal skills being capable of long term survival. He would probably still be living in the Nantahala National Forest if not for a chance encounter with a rookie cop in a town south of me. If Brian is in this area, it’s possible this could go on for years.

That's why I'm right the opposite from the post you quoted. I can see no internet, but not TV. Hell, it wasn't but a few years ago that I didn't have reliable internet where I live and mostly relied on mobile.
That said, most everyone has a cell phone now, even in Appalachia. They have mobile internet, even if pre-paid.
With some of those folks, I believe Lyssa may be confusing "tuning out" and not caring with "not having". One is admirable these days.

If he is laying low, who do you think is funding him? And how are they getting supplies to him? I guess he could be hiking some trails, but he'd still need some resources.
I'm certain his folks' bank account withdrawals have been scrutinized closely.

I said the other day that with a burner phone and a few Visa gift cards a person can get a long way, particularly in today's masked up world.
With just a little planning, and in late Summer/early Fall, a person could be comfortable for a while living outside. If he went North, that shite is going to change in a few weeks. Winter will add a whole new level to his suffering.

I live in rural arkansas with no cell service but I do get internet but I do understand the struggle.

She very well may have been an aggressor in this particular situation but she's very clearly extremely emotionally distressed. She very clearly demonstrated for the officer how he grabbed her face and mouth area. There's enough warning flags to know that this was a fairly toxic situation, not just a random we had a bad moment type situation.

Which could actually give more credence to her being the aggressor…

Oh, well if she “very clearly demonstrated” it, then lock him up! If I very clearly demonstrated to LSUPD how you grabbed my nuts once, does that make it true?

We have the advantage of hindsight here, which the cops did not have, and with no visible evidence of her laying hands on her, their hands were tied.

Dude. There's no clear evidence that he hit her.
“ “A male hit a female, domestic,” recordings between dispatch and police. “The female who got hit, they… both the male and the female, got into the van and headed north.”
In the incident report, an officer noted that “it wasn’t clear, but I believe it was reported the male had been observed to have assaulted the female.”
LATER IN THE REPORT, an officer wrote “no one reported that the male struck the female.”
Moab PD is covering their assess with that last notation in the report which is untrue.
And then there’s the body cam video of her describing his attack on her.
She also asks the cop.
“Weren’t there any witnesses?”
