Pretty much.
Although, the FBI is probably not the best at figuring out how to hunt down someone. They are paralyzed by their profiling analysis and by the book approach. Bringing in someone(s) who have real world experience at hunting people down probably makes some sense.
Obviously, Dog isn't that.

Only one I have found is the FBI is officially taking over. The search in the reserve is being scaled back. Dog has entered the search. It is obvious they have no idea where he is.

I just came back from a week on the AT this morning and the amount of traffic is the most I have ever seen.. not likely he could hide on it unless he is in Maine… too close of interactions with people daily

Don't worry, his showing up for this gives us a pretty good idea that he has something in the works. I guess he had to bump up the wedding to wife number six so he could have a fill-in for Beth's role.
