When were they at that restaurant in Jackson hole? I think that is a day she died
According to eyewitnesses, they were at the restaurant sometime between 1 and 3 pm on August 27.
According to the Bethunes, they videod the van at the camping site around 6 pm, also on August 27.

If anyone had, say, $5,000 and a 5 day head start on authorities, where would you go ?

Is this day 6 of the search at the reserve ?
Has it been said why there is still a ongoing search at the reserve other than his parents telling LEO that he left their house last Tuesday to go hiking here ?
I feel like I’m missing something.

Even if it were strangulation? I suppose body decomp would be a tell-tale sign for the cadaver dogs, but suppose he disposed of the body before the decomp left any trace in the van.
Given she was living in the van there would be trace evidence everywhere. I'm no forensic expert by any stretch, but absent blood spatters, seems it would be hard to distinguish between pre & post death evidence assuming decomposition hadn't started. They probably got hits but it may not be helpful because everyone knows shes been in the van.
I'm also curious as to how much money he got. The way the indictment was worded to me that was a charging threshold and he could have much more than $1,000. They don't say whose card it was do they?

Has this been confirmed, I am always doubtful when someone comes out 10 days later and say, oh I saw them fighting in a restaurant; put my face on camera please.

Fair point. But it’s the testimony of several witnesses (at least one waitress, and a patron), not just one. And I’m sure the FBI could pull Gabby’s debit card and see if they had used it at the restaurant on the day.

Good to know. If more than a single person, seems more plausible. I am curious why he has only been charged for basic using someone else's account. Also, those charges might not stick if he can show a pattern of her letting him use her debit card in the past.

The patron said yes, and the manager has confirmed.

If it was just gas money, all it would prove is what we already know: that BL drove home. You’re right. He could just say that, along with the van, she gave him her credit card. As domestic partners, it would be a stretch to presume that they didn’t consider their money and bank accounts to be jointly owned by the both of them (if not by law, then at least de facto).
But $1,000 is a bit more than just “gas” money. (Depending on the gas mileage of the van.)

Yes that seems a bit excessive. But, my wife and I before married shared each other's bank account. We did not join our accounts until we married, but we owned a car together and other things before marriage. This was way before debit cards, but I could see how using my wife's account for something would not be out of the ordinary before we got married.

I bet Gabby knew better than to give him access. He would have the van full of comic books, and Storm Trooper helmets. I bet the FBI has not charged him with taking money from an account he was authorized to.

I think it’s already been discussed that that photo of his room was from a realtor’s website and was taken prior to Laundrie’s family moving in. (Prior to 2019, they lived on Long Island.)

I knew that, but my point was that he had a propensity to buy useless shite, and would have had them both broke, in qualifying time. People lose all inhibition when they are spending other people's money.

I think he just wanted out. I don't think he was greedy, just useless. He wanted to go home, she wanted to continue the trip.
