That's actually a pretty decent drive when you can get everything you need in Jackson, why go to Victor?
You are certainly correct and I have no idea. But I could think of many reasons. I'm just saying its not easy to say "that timeline wouldn't make any sense".
It could be as simple as weather was better in Victor on the back side of the mountains, they wanted to go see one particular photo spot, etc.

I don't know the forensic SOP's, but how can you know it's definitely a homicide if you have no idea how she died? Doesn't how she died determine if it is a homicide, lightning strike, or whatever?

I have a feeling it has something to do with not having all of the toxicology results, etc.
I think someone gave the example earlier in the thread of a bullet between the eyes--they may not be able to say what the OFFICIAL cause of death is until the autopsy is final, but they might be able to say, initially, that the cause of death is a homicide.

If her head is bashed in and gunshot wounds are present, they know someone killed her, but not what wounds caused her death. Same as if she was shot a few times, it's a murder, but they don't know what shot was fatal. It could be as simple as they know how she died, but don't want to reveal how it happened at this time.
