No body. No crime? That’s what they say on TV.. I think?

Incredibly stupid. If he didn't get caught carrying a body across the country, the cadaver dogs would signal to her recent presence in the van easily.

He was already in a great spot to dispose of a body.

Especially at high altitude. You wear out quickly if you're not accustomed to it.

That's why he probably tricked her to walk over there. At least that's what I would do, if I was a murderer.

Driving the whole way across the country with a dead body is a bold strategy, Cotton.

They found a body. No mention of BL.

No mention of what type of vehicle...

Didn't he have a silver Mustang at his parents?

If it was premeditated, all he had to do was give her a ton of edibles or weed (they were using it, it's on her insta), go on a hike late in a dangerous unfamiliar area, take her phone, and then just say bye and run away leaving her lost.

Then pretend like he was hiking alone for a while and he doesn't know what happened to her. *shrug*

I'm really curious to know the cause of death.

I would think that depends on what they know and when they learned it.

Sounds like a lot of these dudes are jealous that their “my wife cheated on me with a portable toaster” thread didn’t get stickied.

For what? I guess if their missing persons report was fraudulent, they might face charges or if they knowingly helped hide or discard evidence of a crime. Seems unlikely.

What’s law enforcement SOP in a situation like this where the body was found with obvious signs of foul play such as being buried, gunshot, major head trauma, etc.? Obviously an official autopsy takes time, but if she was buried for example then wouldn’t that change some circumstances?

If that was the case, wouldn’t a warrant be issued for BL? But there isn’t a warrant right? It’s certainly possible there wasn’t any signs, but im just curious why the police are taking his search so casually from a public point of view.

Harboring what? Is there a warrant out for him? He hasn’t even been officially named a suspect.

They treat it as a homicide, process the scene.

Depends on cause of death imo. If it’s something that he probably did then you have to consider how unlikely it is that he was at home for 2 weeks and didn’t tell them anything.

I can see them leaving him alone for a day or two, but after you don’t see Gabby for a week you have to start asking questions. Then when her dad calls? Then the story breaks?

I find it strange that as unstable as she obviously was, nobody actually discusses the fact that she could have walked a little ways from the van and committed suicide thinking their relationship was done. I believe in the police stop it was noted that they had a firearm in the van. If that body was out in the open in a place with no trees or cover, that is my guess. Knowing he would be blamed he probably freaked out and left with the van. I am also pretty sure he is no longer on US soil and was picked up by family after dropping his car at the preserve (lots to search and to keep cops busy) and given a private escort out of US authorities reach.
