Then, wouldn't the FBI hold a presser aboot the June Guy case? This is specifically aboot her, a few hours after they find a body. It is her. Occam's razor wins again.

The FBI has said they're issuing a statement about the GP investigation. If they found June guy's body and had to call off the search dogs in the GP investigation because of that, that is a statement pertinent to the GP investigation

If it was as simple as she just took off, I would imagine he'd want to help find her. And would at least, through his lawyer, give information to the authorities to help do just that.

I guess that depends on when he knew it was a disappearance? Even if he was innocent, if it was an angry break up and he decided to break cleanly away from her and let her travel back home by herself, but a week or so goes by, and he only then finds out that she never made it back to New York, even a reasonable, innocent person would want to lawyer up and clam up because anyone who has watched situations like this before would know police always look at romantic partners as potential suspects.

What if she fell off a cliff trying to take a stupid selfie for Instagram (like has happened before) and he just panicked and fled.
.

I just don’t see this being the case.

If memory serves me right according to timeline

August 29: GP speaks to her mother on the phone , says they are in Grand Teton NP

August 29: BL hitch hikes around 530 pm

August 30: Gabbys mom gets a text “ no service in Yosemite”

Sept 1 : BL in Florida

He’s GUILTY

Would the family have to identify her in person?

She’s most likely been dead for awhile.

They aren’t showing parents a decaying corpse. They will use forensics to identify.

Im assuming they could estimate an age in some form between hair color, size, etc. If it’s a white woman between 16-30 the chances it’s not her are slim to none.

Right but someone said they might have found the dude missing since June. I was just pointing out you can look at the hip bones and determine it's a male without needing the body to be identified.

Also, a body from June is going to be much more decomposed than from just a couple weeks ago.

If they found a female they would need to identify it, it's 99% chance if its female, it's her. But they would have to have someone identify it to be sure.

I was just showing it's easy to prove it's not her if it is a male body.

It is very possible the police tipped him off about what area they were searching. This is a common tactic to try and freak out the person of interest.
then wouldn't you think the police would have had his house under surveillance to track his movements?

You know people die a lot from doing that right? Social media types looking for exposure.

I was in Yosemite 3 years ago when a couple fell off of A lookout called Taft Point taking a selfie. Similar couple to this one as far as being bloggers or whatever.

If there were potential identifying objects on her (i.e. clothes, jewelry, etc.) they would likely show them that.

Ridiculous. Join the real world one day.
This happens, and has happened multiple times over the previous few years.

There is a Wikipedia page dedicated to the concept.

LINK

Not saying that is what happened, but it does happen.

From 2011 to 2017, there were 259 deaths related to taking selfies.

Yes these things happen but in how many of these incidents did the fiancé take the unfortunate persons van and drive cross country unannounced and then refuse to speak about it to police or family members and lawyer up and then disappear into a nature area?

True, but usually when that happens the person with them is basically like "hey they fell". So it doesn't really track for this case unless it happened after he left her.
