That may be a stream out there.
Could be rinsing cookware or clothes...
or, washing his dirty feet.

Out in the open is no place to dig a hole for a body.

Y'all really think you're going to get so lucky as to have a video of the guy literally burying the body?

The odds are slim, for sure. It's more about narrowing down the timeline to try to find out when she disappeared. This couple running across this van helps tremendously(it lines up with other witness accounts in the timeline). I'd be shocked if they don't find her today.

Creek bead with lots of rock, probably not digging. Dont know the water level difference from the maps pic to what it was then. Pin is where I believe the van was parked.

Edit: not a field like some people on Twitter are saying.

I seriously doubt he had a shovel to begin with.

That does appear to be a person though.

There’s a part of me that thinks this is a decent scam to gain a social media following.

1. Attractive couple wants followers to make money
2. Start a travel blog trying to gain followers.
3. Call 911 to get body cam footage for domestic violence but no real evidence to arrest
4. Then “go missing”
5. Have Boyfriend “say nothing”
6. News runs stories
7. People get interested
8. Girl shows up later: “sorry y’all, we had a fight and I just wanted to get away and live off the grid. I had no idea y’all were looking for me. Lol”
9. Boy says: “we got in a fight and I left her alone. If she ended up dying I was afraid of being blamed, so I went to go find her instead of just telling you where I last saw her”

10. Each now has a million followers making a few hundred k per year.

but the chances of this being a YouTube attention scam gone way too far have risen a little over the past few days.

Whats the payoff?

I would think the reaction would be wholly negative if this were the conclusion.

Logic may not be foremost in the minds of people desperately seeking their 15 minutes. I still think this case will have a sad, predictable outcome, but some elements are starting to channel the balloon boy hoax.
As I recall, even the Weather channel interrupted programming to cover the "unfolding tragedy" of a boy trapped in a runaway ballon hurtling across the U.S. Great Plains thousands of feet above earth.
FYI the ballon boy's parents received a pardon from the Colorado governor last year.

Elizabeth Smart kidnapping happened before social media, 20 years ago.

She has a quarter million followers on Instagram

I'm hoping that it is a scam. But if it is, there better be major backlash from the public.

Just looking at the one video that this Brian guy posted, it couldn't be more generic. Van Life videos like that are a dime a dozen on youtube, so maybe they came up with a plan to get attention. Plus, there's only one 8 minute video on his site.

Kinda hard to make a career out of posting one video that doesn't even say much about your "adventure".

IF...and it's a BIG IF...but if this were a scam all along these two would have to be staring down many criminal charges and jail time right?

That isn’t a person, that is Squatch looking for the missing girl.

For what charges?

The parents would be furious and embarrassed. But if stupidity and narcissism become criminal we won't have many people outside of prison

I mean I don't know what crime has been committed per se but i'd imagine leading hundreds of LEO from multiple agencies across multiple states on a wild goose chase will be punishable.

If they can prove it was all done purposefully, but how are you going to do that?

If she says “we got into a fight and I ran away” how are you going to prove otherwise?

Don't get me wrong, you're absolutely correct here. But I don't think we're working with a couple of masterminds here. i'd imagine there would be some kind of frick ups along the way that could be used to show a different story. Admittedly, I don't know what that could be, but I'm just guessing something would be out there.

Doesn't really explain his family's actions in the wake of all this.
