Keep a non threatening distance away
Do you think they would have been able to run him off the road like they did at a "non threatening distance"?

well the actions of the officers and tactics used seems to suggest that keeping the baby alive wasn't high on the priority list.
I'll bet that baby was dead by the time they attacked.

Well we know I think already this is false

Details not known to me would absolutely matter.
I feel the same way. This is why I choose to form an opinion only after I feel I've gotten sufficient information. One article on the internet does not make me feel confident in knowing the facts or conditions of the incident.

Baby was alive when it was taken to hospital
I don’t see where it’s been confirmed the baby was shot
Another article I saw said they were performing an autopsy
Would they do that if it had been shot?

The baby was alive when they brought it to the hospital

Just checking in on this thread to see if Chad504Boy was still policing

WDSU has something like ... baby dies in a barrage of police gunfire.. then later states the coroner doesn't know if the baby was shot or not.
I'm not linking it or giving them any more clicks.

The police pursuit began in Louisiana and crossed over the Mississippi line. At the 10 mile marker in Hancock County, shots were fired. Since officers knew Smith was likely traveling with the infant, they worked to bring him to a safe, slow stop, closing off exits along the interstate to keep other drivers safe, as well.
In Long Beach near mile marker 28, stop sticks were deployed. The suspect drove around them so the chase continued further east into Harrison County. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the median near the Woolmarket exit.
Smith was killed when gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and officers. The baby was also shot and was rushed to Merit Health in Biloxi, then air lifted to USA Trauma Center in Mobile, Ala., said authorities.

So as video shown, the car was slowing down and getting into median on his own accord. Police car then further hit the rear of suspect vehicle. Seems like the cops were instantly all upon the suspect which didn't do any good to de-escalate a hostage situation which ended up with the baby getting shot... (likely by friendly fire)

Ok so again..... are you blaming the cops for this babies death Or the POS that put the baby in that situation.......

its kind of their job description. SWAT teams exist for reasons.
You cannot be this dumb (Unless you are a liberal).
Do you think each officer carries an inflatable SWAT team in their trunk?

Why are y’all piling on Chad here?
This was a pretty botched hostage situation; you don’t fire indiscriminately into a car in which you know there’s a hostage, especially an infant.

Not all, but some of those officers had rifles with scopes in their cars that can hit a quarter at 200 yards. They were much closer than 200 yards in this situation. By the time they did the take out maneuver on the car, they should have already had shooters in the cars up front to shoot the guy with precision rifles. The shooters should have already been chosen. I don't know what killed the baby. But what should have killed the perp is a few well placed 308 rounds to his forehead. Maybe all of this was taking place, but it didn't look like it to me.

Unless you know the baby was on the floor or seat and you are aiming for the guy's head

Ok John Wick
Your perception of reality must be awfully skewed.
