McKinley is in the hood man but there will probably be lots of people around and most likely you'll be ok.

My son's team played there this year and it was fine. Very sketchy area but a ton of police presence.

I’d definitely be carrying all night. Violent area… I get why you’re going but man.. good luck. Keep your head on a swivel, especially walking to and from your car.

Yes. My daughters high school has played them every year in regular season. It is not the best area but their band and dance line have always been very nice to our school. The school gets the kids on the bus right after the game and they have a cop that escorts them too.
Edit to add: we are a 90% white Catholic private school. We got treated worse by parkview fans than McKinley.

As for the neighborhood, yes it is sketchy as frick. But there is a police presence there.
As for the team, McKinley just finished their first winning season since 2010. Had been especially bad the last couple of years.
This could be a good draw for your team. McKinley is a good story, but they play in a shitty district. They aren't as good as their seed. Their defense is very good, but their offense is not good. They have one good RB and a QB who isn't very good.
They have 3 shutouts in a row, but all were against awful teams.

Played there a couple of times about 15 years ago. Was a shithole then but I don't remember hearing of anything bad happening to anyone. Parents went to all the games and never complained much. Go enjoy yourself.

I thought they would play at Memorial or Olympia Stadium.

Went to Mohinnley in the 90’s, and played football. Been back a couple of times through the years. You’ll be fine. Yes the neighborhood around the school isn’t very good, but if your not a hood rat doing hood rat things you’ll be just fine. There will be police around, and your only a couple of blocks away from LSU.
Go and have a good time, enjoy the show, and just filter in and out with everyone else.
