yeah I think you're going to have a tough time claiming self defense, because it doesn't sound like some random crackhead trying to rob him regardless of whether or not he was beating a woman

You can go see it, but it will have to be by walking down there and viewing it yourself for Orleans parish
I'd rather not. It used to be safe if you just racially profiled everyone, but now mid-20s guys in Perlis pullovers are killing folks in New Orleans.

It won't be made public until the first appearance, unless someone leaks.

The original police report from January 6th could have information in there that Jackson's daughter was ranting about.
I'm sure someone in his family obtained a copy before he passed away if he wasn't able to speak/communicate about what happened to him.

But to be clear, you could go down to the courthouse and read it yourself if you wanted?

a warrant is not going to have every single detail about the incident, its going to be a basic straight forward statement of probable cause to charge this dude with murder. The details will be in the final report from whatever homicide det. gets the case. Either way, this dude has got a serious problem on his hands I just hope the media stays away and it dont get the racecard bs

Jackson was already fragile after years of fighting the complications of sugar diabetes, said Sonya Schnyder, who kept in daily touch with her husband of 24 years and considered him the love of her life. Jackson couldn’t work and had fallen briefly into homelessness. But he had been living in an apartment for nearly a year. The scene of the attack was less than a mile from his home at the Guste.
Kenyada Schnyder was at her father's side at the hospital. He had emergency surgery to relieve bleeding in his brain and was on a machine helping him breathe before his organs failed and he died, she said. "He had been a big fine man when he was young," Sonya Schnyder said of a man whose survivors include a son as well. "But he had gotten real sick a few years ago. He’d lost a lot of weight. I’m guessing he just fell to the ground. He was so fragile."
Some additional info from the article. This seems pretty cut and dry but good to have some additional info. None of this surprises me, fwiw.
One thing that is interesting to me is that it sounds like he was outside the Red Zone on St Charles when it happened and that at least one witness was a Red Zone manager. I have seen those guys dozens of times. They are three Arab-American guys, two of them have no detectable accent. I think that they would be favorable witnesses to a white jury member.

I just don’t understand how only his family is saying he was beating some unknown women (they weren’t on the scene) but the witnesses didn’t mention it and the guy was unable to speak to anyone.

I find it funny how tgrbait dismisses any information given by friends of Ward as ludicrous and false, but eats up anything said by the victims family like a bowl of ice cream

What info has been given by the friends that I've dismissed as ludicrous and false?

So it’s basically everyone on here, myself included, guessing what the actual arrest reports say
I would just think a detail like that would be in the news article if the detectives and witnesses were all saying it

Obviously it was Prof Plum in the library with the candlestick.

I think we can say confidently that the accused was intoxicated, struck the victim, the victim died as a result of his injuries, and the police believe they have enough evidence to support a murder charge. After that is speculation, educated guesses and info about the incident or accused from biased sources.

In fairness, Ward's friends here are just being character witnesses, nothing wrong with that but if they were relating information ostensibly from Wade, witnesses or detectives then it would likely take on a different dynamic. Consider at least one of the friends told us he turned himself in yesterday which turned out to be false. I don't doubt the family has more information from the neighborhood and the detectives than is being reported, how much is accurate is another issue, but Ward's "side" has zero info.
