the family claims the witnesses did mention it and the witness stories were corroborated by a detective. Time will tell if that turns out to be true.
So the NOPD is willing to give info to the media that the witnessess viewed Ward kicking Jackson in the head, but they wouldnt release that Ward was also beating a woman?

Doesnt pass by smell test

I agree, I just think it’s unresponsible for the advocate to print something like that only based on his family members parents words.

The family is repeating what they were told

quote:

Schnyder and her mother, Sonya, Jackson's ex-wife, said that according to conversations with a detective on the case and friends in the area at the time of the beating, Jackson was attacked when he tried to stop Ward from hitting a woman.

Ed Osteen, Do you and LSUpride87 have a different version of the story that yall would like to share with the class? If so, I would be just as interested to hear it.

What have Ward's friends and family say that happened that night?

It's plausible that something like a physical argument with a woman prior to the fight would be excluded from the arrest warrant. Whether he was arguing/fighting with a woman before the altercation with the victim isn't necessarily germane to the second degree battery warrant. It's also possible the story was relayed after the original arrest warrant.

I think we should be skeptical, but there are reasonable reasons this wouldn't be released at this point.

If this is true, ole baw is fricked and totally changes my opinion on a favorable outcome for him. Homie don’t play that. You hit a woman, you are a certified 100% POS trash.

Actually, that would not be unusual at all. NOPD is providing the media the basic information that lead to the charge, they will not disclose all the other information.

No and I haven’t claimed to have any different version. All I’m doing is asking how the family got their version of him hitting a female. It’s like you are purposely trying to be obtuse. I haven’t even argued that he hit a female, I said I know his gf wasn’t with him and didn’t understand how the family knew additional details.

Nothing and if they did I was trust their opinion just as much as the victims family members who didn’t see the crime

Call me crazy, but I thought worse of him when I first thought he kicked a man to death, than simply hitting a woman

I don't mean this to sound like an arse, but I'm sure the Advocate would speak to someone from Ward's camp and publish their side as well. However, I'd imagine his attorney(s) have strongly advised against it.

I wonder what caused Sonya and the deceased to divorce? I find it odd that the Ex Wife has such strong attachment. It may be inconsequential but it kind of stood out to me.

Yes. "Reacting negatively" is the new euphemism for murder too.

Try to keep up.

Damn right. I’d wake up in the morning with stamps on my hands from bars I don’t remember even going to. Apparently, I liked to steal things when on Xanax too. I’d have $100 in my pocket and still try to steal a handful of lighters from Circle K.

On a serious note, I could see something like grabbing her arm while arguing be misconstrued as hitting a woman by the time the story is told a few times. He also could have outright hit a woman. It all could be fabricated too. We'll see.
