I am saying getting knocked unconscious and falling and hitting your head absolutely can cause blunt force trauma and a brain bleed
If you are conscious, one is able to hold there head enough to keep the injuries less severe

Wow, I literally lived a block from there. There are some panhandlers there who are a little annoying, but nothing crazy. There is one guy who was an older black man who never asked anyone for money, but he had a sign up that said something like "Pround Black man who likes to read. Give change if you can." or something like that.
The panhandler situation was improved once the Pontchartrain Hotel reopened.

There is a higher chance, IMO, that he was kicked in the head and killed than being knocked unconscious on his feet and falling
