Yeah there isn’t really any explanation for this. Don’t know why anyone would behave in such a manner. Good riddance.

So we’ve had witness claim that the victim was attacked while breaking up a dispute between Garrett and an unknown female
Now we have a witness claiming that Garrett got up from sitting on a tree stoop to randomly attack this man
What’s next?

And both scenarios make Ward look even worse than the initial report.
I don't get your point. In both accounts he is the aggressor.

I’d really like to believe I live in a world where 25 year old guys who seem to have their shite together professionally and have a lot to lose don’t go around saying “hey old man catch these frickin hands! Where do I got my shoes now you dumb bastard??? That’s right! On your fricking face!”
But maybe I’m a Pollyanna
But maybe I’m a Pollyanna

Maybe the guy has had everything or many things go his way instead of gaining anything he has through character and merit. I think someone in the thread said something about him mostly likely having an "in" at Latter & Blum to get a nice job like that. Guy knew how to shake hands whether he deserved it or not if I had to guess.

every person ever convicted of a crime is like this
Perhaps -- but most of them quickly accept their fate. This guy's family/friends actually believe that it'll happen and that he'll get off with a slap on the wrist. They're still in the "I can't believe this happened"/"surely something can be done" denial stage.

Williams wrote in the murder warrant that one of the witnesses who police interviewed said Ward was "sitting outside on a tree stump when the victim (Mr. Jackson) was casually walking down the street minding his own business." "Mr. Ward, who appeared to be drunk according to (the witness), jumped up from his stoop and began throwing several punches at Mr. Jackson's head. Mr. Ward was yelling unknown terms and Mr. Jackson was only trying to protect himself," the warrant states
Is the murders buddy still around? Wasp? Where ya at mon frere? Care to comment about occams razor again?

All I did was include a story I just read. No real point other than noticing the pretty big discrepancy between the two witnesses.

Not racists, but they wouldn't take kindly to slandering Mr. Jackson absent of facts. I know lawyers sometimes can get a little "theatrical" when trying to portray the defendant or prosecution as a monster or the opposite as a harmless individual.
Interested to see Red's criminal history, because no matter how minor it may be, it'll definitely be used against him.

And if this guy try some blackout defense that certainly won’t serve him well. Because that will not jive with any reports that he feared for his life or was being mugged. You know, because he would have no memory of that to report.

quote:If one witness says Ward jumped up from a stump and beat Jackson for no reason, and one witness says he was beating a woman and Jackson intervened, those are two completely different stories, that would discredit each witness almost in entirety
And both scenarios make Ward look even worse than the initial report.

I beleive that is the point
The prosecution is not going to bring forth witnesses that tell conflicting stories
However, I beleive the woman beating story is completely fabricated, as nothing has been brought forth at all from the cops regarding this

Is ward a fricking walking criminal record database?

Even without the eye witness testimonies you have :
1. Guy dead specifically from blunt force trauma to head
2. Perp with blood on both hands and found running from the scene
At the minimum all the witnesses admit they saw the perp hitting on the victim.
The discrepancies might not make any difference at all.

He beat a sick 60 year old man.

However, we still have not seen any report at all from the nopd that mentions woman beating. Only the family has said that

That's the point I was trying to make earlier ... as if any inmate will be intimidated because he killed a decrepit 60-year old
Posted on 1/25/18 at 9:57 pm to the paradigm
I'm sure they'll try to bring it in if he has one. I would doubt it would be effective even if it were to be admissable.

Yeah..this guy is going away for a while unless Lindsey Williams finds something major in discovery
Video, other witnesses..literally nothing is in wards favor at the moment
