Around 3 a.m., St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of Auguillard Road in Breaux Bridge. One of the suspects had rung the doorbell of the home, and when the homeowner answered the door, the second suspect allegedly appeared with a firearm.
The homeowner shot both of the suspects, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said. One of the suspects fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later following a traffic stop.
Both suspects were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Investigators learned the two suspects are wanted in connection with an armed robbery and shooting in Baton Rouge late Monday.
Details on the armed robbery and shooting were not immediately available.

Prior to the shooting above it is suspected that the same perps tried to rob someone off of Highland rd. in the Heritage estates sub. They were deterred and the homeowner fought them off as well. He was shot in the buttocks.
That ol' baw bashed one of the perps head into the brick wall then got his arse shot. Literally. That's some old man strength there.

These two men were obviously on their way to take an MCAT class in Lake Charles early Tuesday morning. The homeowner should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

And with almost everyone having cell phones, it is very unlikely some stranded motorist will come to your door at that hour.

This block has a few trailers and one nice home on a big lot. I am guessing it was the home. It is in the middle of nowhere.

Just be sure you know who it is before you brandish that firearm. My brother woke to loud knocking one night and went to the door with his gun. Good thing he asked who was knocking because it was JPSO warning of car break-ins on the street.
