I think TG is just expensive enough to avoid this.

Yep. Nothing says culcha like fricking golfing...
That being said, the metro council torpedoes this one since it benefits the city and makes perfect sense.

why do they need to vote? Why make it so difficult for a business to open? Sounds like a typical LA thing.

In contrast to things like Dave and Busters and Main Event, the Atlanta top golfs have only modest culcha
Considering Atlanta culcha has more disposable income than its BR equivalent, I think you'll be alright

I think it would be a huge success in Baton Rouge especially with a visible location on I-10.

I hope they vote no. Golf is a symbol of white privilege

Because people need to be bribed.

This would be the leading candidate to be the first top golf location to ever fail

If Birmingham can support a TG, we can too

The council needs to vote on things that benefit all Baton Rougeans, like midnight basketball courts

Definitely.
And walking trails that no one will use.

If this is the case one will be poping up off Juban Rd. In 2 years.

The question is, does TopGolf replace Sonic as the place to be?

Top golf is incredibly overrated IMO
Have to agree. Kind of a beating IYAM, not because of the concept or because it's not a decent way to hit some balls but because of the logistics of the entire experience.

Topgolf executives said Wednesday they hope to break ground in early 2018 on one of their popular high-tech driving range, entertainment, food and booze venues in Baton Rouge near Interstate 10 and Siegen Lane.
Topgolf executives approached the East Baton Rouge Metro Council on Wednesday to rezone the old Tinseltown movie theater site to allow them to build a 31,754 square-foot commercial space with a restaurant that serves alcohol. Metro Council members happily agreed with Topgolf's rezoning request, saying they were excited about having one in Baton Rouge.
quote:
"This is something I'm super excited about," said Dwight Hudson, the Metro Council member for the district Topgolf is eyeing. "I've got so many calls about Topgolf coming to Baton Rouge, people are super excited about this, I can't wait to see it happen."
