Anthony Mackie has attacked the lack of diversity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying that he especially has issues with how the studio approached Black Panther.

"When The Falcon and the Winter Soldier comes out, I'm the lead. When Snowpiercer comes out, you're the lead. We have the power and the ability to ask those questions. It really bothered me that I've done seven Marvel movies where every producer, every director, every stunt person, every costume designer, every PA, every single person has been white.

It was at this point that Mackie decided to use his power as the leading star of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series to point out his major issue with Black Panther, which was the first ever MCU blockbuster to earn a Best Picture nomination.

“But then when you do Black Panther, you have a Black director, Black producer, you have a Black costume designer, you have a Black stunt choreographer. And I'm like, that's more racist than anything else. Because if you only can hire the Black people for the Black movie, are you saying they're not good enough when you have a mostly white cast?”

and the reverse question: Why does a movie with a black lead have to have all black directors, crew, etc.?

He makes a point, but it cuts both ways.

Black people have to understand that they’re only 13% of the population.

And in general they do much worse in school than other races, so the chances they are going to fill up highly competitive jobs is slim.

Imagine if the average white person was as racist as Anthony Mackie.

What a piece of shite.

How come Hispanics and Asians aren't making a fuss? They make up 17% and 5% of the population yet I can't think of one Marvel character with their ethnicity.

Wong

That's not a bad Asian joke. Wong is attached at the hip with Dr. Strange

For a productive dialogue to happen you have to deal in truth and facts. Without these two things no real conversation can happen. All you’re doing at that point is talking fantasy. And that will solve nothing. So considering what he said was factual, I don’t understand your objection.

Productive dialogue means being honest. When you’re ready for that, let me know.

Wait, so they have an all black movie (which they approve of) but they also want an all black white movie? I'm confused.

Fair enough. White government led to the dissolution of the black family. White handouts led to generational reliance on the government. White policies led to the black ghettos that fostered crime and drug use and further crippling of the black community.
