Nostalgic items are selling at crazy prizes right now. If you had the time, you could easily make a decent living just buying and selling cards right now.

It's funny. Baby boomers drove the nostalgia boom for comics and cards in the 80's, then it all kind of slowed down. I figured the nostalgic market would fade away with them. Had no idea that people my age and younger might place even higher premiums on nostalgia, at younger ages.

Wasn't there a Pawn Stars where the dude tried to sell that actual cartridge (the 9.6 graded SMB) for $60k but Rick would only give him 20k?

Like my pappy used to say, every day there are more millionaires than the day before and you never know what they are willing to pay through the nose for.

It is funny. People complain about rent and not being able to purchase a home, but they’ve got money for that 1999 Griffey All Star card

Have an unopened Final Fantasy game still in the shrink wrap, it somehow got buried in the closet after Christmas and was "lost" for many years. By the time I re-found it, NES was basically retired. Very, very glad I decided to never open it.

I actually went through my cards a few months back. I have two Griffey Jr. rookies I had forgotten about. One is in really good shape and the other not so much. He was my favorite for a while, and I have a bunch if his card. Mike Piazza, too. I don't know how I wound up with 8 of his regular rookie and two or three other different rookies of his. Frank Thomas, too. Found a Bo rookie that is completely beat to shite. Several others. 98% of the rest of them are junk, of course.

The seller wanted a million dollars on that pawn stars episode. Looks like Rick was correct to pass.
