The local ordinance needs to be anything over 200 lots must also pay for widening the street to which the neighborhood exits. All these developers just keep developing these massive neighborhoods with average 2 drivers per lot, on an already crowded infrastructure. And they wonder why traffic is horrible?
This is a major problem in Ascension Parish as well.

Wait, how often does this happen? I'm not sure I got it from your original post.

Why don’t they just put a light there?

Seems to me what makes the most sense is installing a frickin’ three way traffic light right in front of U Club
I would imagine this is coming. Then there will be some serious bitching.

How much did this one cost

I’ve been thinking about this and when the first person dies because of this university club HOA and the sheriff’s department and the deputy on duty will all be sued and responsible for a portion of the costs associated with the deaths. UClub has deep pockets.

They are playing with fire with hiring someone to do this. Just think if 5 people died in one accident. That HOA is going to be making a special $15k assessment on each property. They also get to live with the guilt of killing those people. Scumbags.

As a result of the December 2018 traffic study, DOTD ruled a traffic light is not warranted. Peak times (6a-8a) and (4p-6p) were the only times of need
It actually seems like it should be the peak times that are important for this study right? "It doesn't warrant a light because it only matters during the times a bunch of people are affected by it. If the road is not busy at 2AM there is no reason to put a light there"
If they're worried about slowing traffic on LA30 during non-peak times, go with a flashing yellow on the main street and flashing red coming out of the subdivision during non-peak. Or, during non-peak times, only trigger a light cycle if someone is sitting in the left turn lane to exit UC. This is the exact reason for those induction coils to exist in the pavement at stop lights.

It seems really entitled to think your morning commute is more important than others that you have traffic stopped so you can leave in the morning.
They literally can't leave their neighborhood to go to work sometimes without someone stopping traffic. The line gets outrageous.
So they are just saying their commute is equally as important. The cop lets the road and the neighborhood take turns going so everyone can get to work.
ETA:
No, I don't live in UClub.

Not our problem university club has 700 houses with one entrance to get in and out. They should thought about that before buying a house there.

One day I left LSU and a young blonde in a new mercedes turned out the University club behind me. She was doing her makeup and hair while driving the whole time until she turned in to the Crazy Horse.

Ummm....I don't think she lived in UC, I think she was probably contracted out by one of the tenants for extra-marital services.

They need to leave earlier. If it’s bringing kids to school then they need to get a bus. It’s simple.

brining traffic to a complete stop suddenly when people are going 55+ isn’t safe at all.
Isn’t that what stop lights do already?

My profession is more important than theirs or the next guys.
Why do I think that you ask?
Because MY profession pays MY bills.
