DNA and fingerprints were done. FBI, DOJ, local LE, and autopsy results are outlined in the article

Someone can get all this info and track down these pictures but can't come up with 100 bucks?
Great point. It sure does cost only $100, IF the donor is alive and can spit in a tube. If the donor has been skeletonized and stored, then bone must be taken (court costs to approve) and then shipped ($) to a facility that does this testing ($$$) and so on.
However, his DNA has been gathered and tested, thanks to donors. We're trying right now to build a family tree and identify him.
If you have taken a DNA test, please consider uploading your results to gedmatch.com and opting in to letting law enforcement use your data to help solve cases.
