Do you honestly believe Saudi Arabia and Belize have better hospitals, medical technology, and doctors than America?

It seems we could spend far less than we do now and have identical results, given the info... .

The difference is that there's a middle man here to make money promising better healthcare and delivering subpar results at the patients expense.

Yet you actively supported the ACA, which transferred billions of dollars to these middlemen that you hate and forced Americans to buy their product

You are a hypocrite

No regular CEO has full detail security walking with him around a city for an investor convention. Dude was walking from his hotel to the conference and had been there for a few days...

I guess we moved past the disagreeing stage and jumped right into ad hominems.

Unless you can quote my support of ACA, I am thinking you've run out of constructive things to talk about tonight?

Yeah, I don't know about that. Most fortune 500 companies have an executive security division.

That's not "arbitrary."

The issue is that it’s a blatant decision to lower reimbursement without taking individual situations into account.

If you’re in a procedure that typically lasts 60 minutes, but it finishes in 45 minutes due to having a proficient surgeon and no complications, BCBS won’t doesn’t pay that 15 minutes for doing well. If there’s a complication and an extra 30 minutes are added, BCBS won’t pay for that extra 30 that couldn’t have been predicted. They are capping the potential payment without taking individual situations into account. That's not "arbitrary."

Imagine you were in surgery, and they could give you a nerve block to help with post-op pain, but the insurance company won’t pay for it. The provider has stopped giving it, so after your knee surgery you’re in more pain and recovery takes longer because they chose not to pay $800 for additional pain support. While it’s not medically necessary, it helps provide a more comfortable level-of-care for patients.

Agree but anesthesia is being heavily overused as it is profitable for hospitals

People getting MRIs and minimally invasive procedures with anesthesia because they have anxiety

So a $1000 test turns into a $5000 test

I mean, I wouldn't have taken that route, but maybe these shitbag exec's who literally make a living off of fricking over people who are at their lowest having to live in a little bit of fear isn't the worst thing for all involved.

No doubt she's (Taylor) is terrible.

ETA: I won't budge on my comment, though.

Out of curiosity I googled, and found out United administers both the LSU student and faculty/staff health plans, although LSU Sports uses Blue Cross.

It’s like George Carlin once said. You wanna see things in this country get back on track, start doing public executions of these white collar executives. And things will change really fast.

Granted most of these CEOs are firmly ensconced in their own bubbles but it's got to give some of them pause that a substantial minority of the country are happy about this and a good half or more are neutral about it.

You would be too big of a pussy to say that to his wife and 2 children, Jim.

Also, reading about the guy now, he was a founding member of an organization for special needs children and donated substantial sums for underprivileged handicapped children.

Some of you people just refuse to grasp that the job of a ceo of *any* company is to improve its finances. This is a basic rule.

Just curious Jim, what does the ceo of your company do?
