How does this happen?

I would have thought unemployment benefits would either be minimal or based on your last year of compensation.

It happened because it was designed to keep people home. How do you do that? Pay them as much, almost as much, or more than what they were getting paid. Then they can just go fishing....... and get paid to do it.

It’s a bunch of bullshite. Just makes people ever more dependent on big government. They could have gone somewhere in the middle. Let low risk people work and cut a check to those who are a high risk and should stay home. But, I’m not in charge, so what do I know?

I did this a few weeks ago because I was curious for my state. Each state is different.

You think all these jobs will magically come back in three months?

And guess what if their old job comes back they have to take it.

They should have set the enhanced part of it to expire on May 31st. They could have extended it after that if the country was still shut down.

Of all the things, complaining they missed it by two months?

People were saying don’t bail out the banks. Bail out the people. That is what they did with this. They bailed out individuals.

If this many people would be unemployed and making old unemployment rates we would have complete anarchy right now.

As has been stated many times now, the problem is that as things are opening back up, these people aren't going to go back to work until July 31st.

I get that the people needed something more than regular unemployment, but the gov. has now screwed over the businesses.

I guess one silver lining is that many of these people will actually splurge with their extra income and hopefully help the economy get rolling again.

While some are going fishing, HUGE numbers of them are crowding into Lowe’s, Home Depot, WalMarks...but those stimulus checks should have stimulated Japanese and Chinese TV makers.

If their employer reports them to unemployment office For not returning then they get kicked off unemployment.

Unemployment Office told my buddy if they hear of a job making 90% of what he was making he has to take it. Even if not his old job.

Yeah and you believe that crap.

The lowlife state workers aren't going to take those actions.

I've been furloughed since March 26. Due to State of Arizona being overwhelmed with unemployment filings they haven't been able to keep up. I went all April without a dime. I got paid for 5 weeks backlog in one lump sum this morning!
