I've always said it should be against the law to have kids before the age of 20. Break the law and its instant probation, with youth services monitoring the child and the parent on some kind of forced birth control until the age of 30. Break the law again, lose the child(ren) and 5 years in prison. People need to start being more responsible..

Know someone who became a grandmother under 40. Had her first kid at 19, second at age 21, both daughters. First kid got pregnant at age 19, then again at age 21. Second kid got pregnant at age 19 as well. Must be a rite of passage in that family.

I don't hang out with pieces of trash, so not really.

There was this one time I was in a bar in Fayetteville AR and a trashy woman looking well into her 40s was sitting next to me at a bar. She told me her grandmother passed away the month before, and since mine had a few months before, I told her mine did as well, but Ithen tell her that at least they all lived to a ripe old age. She tells me her grandmother didn't. I ask her how old she was, and she said 65. I asked her how that was possible. She said her grandmother had her mother when she was 13 and her mother had her when she was 14.

Well, I'm bewildered and have a good buzz going, and then say "Well.... that's fricked up." She flips her shite, "How is that fricked up?!" I then tell her that impregnating someone who just had her first period is pretty damn illegal in this country. She then gets all high and mighty saying that's how people did it back then, and I smart off saying that I agreed, but only in Bethlehem and the Middle Ages. Woman starts flipping out anymore, and I figure it might be a good idea to leave at that point before she gets some crackhead down there to kick my arse.

I don't get it.

I had one male student who was 15(3 years ago) and had 3 kids by 3 different teenage mothers. I thought he was lying, but his mother brought it up in a meeting.

Yeah, this kid would be put down in my society, and the rest of his gene pool sterilized. No telling how many tens of millions, if not hundreds this kid and his gene pool will cost society.

I just vote we sterilize them instead. Putting that next child in the system and 5 years in prison is a waste of tax payers money. Just nip it in the butt when you have your first opportunity.

I have a few friends who were grandparents by the time they were 40. I know of only one who got knocked up as a teenager; the others just married young, at 19-20. (These are mostly just people I grew up with who I only talk to on Facebook.)

It's weird to me because they're posting pics of their grandkids who are just younger than my youngest daughter. Who am I to judge though? Some people (including some posters here) think that 36 is too old to have a baby.

There's a good side of it. My grandparents were relatively young when I was born (though not as young as in the OP) and had the health and energy to do things with us and take us places.

But to your question, it's absolutely more acceptable today. Nothing is "wrong" or to be stigmatized.

It's actually probably more stigmatized today. People wait longer to get settle down than probably ever.

I hear ya. Luckily she has no interest in boys at the moment.

She's a competitive gymnast and is at the gym 22+ hours a week.

No time for other stuff as she says.
