I'm an Acadian with family history (both sides) going back to Nova Scotia and then France.
I could care less about that stupid flag.

Did anyone actually look at the prof's powerpoint that was linked in the article?
LINK
It's actually pretty interesting. The ULL flag already incorporated the West African symbolism as of 1999.

Gotta stand out to feel more important than you actually are? Is that what it is?

Mamou, Eunice, Ville Platte, Grand Coteau, Arnaudville, Church Point all Cajun as anywhere on earth. In fact those towns are more Cajun than lots of places “below I-10”
I know it’s become a figure of speech to refer to “anything above I-10” as yankee or non-Cajun. But man, when someone says that they sound so damn ignorant

Okay.
But only around 11% of Acadians have ANY African blood in them.

Worked in St Landry parish and folks currently live there. This is spot on!

Must be, because it seems usually KATC can’t help but not post controversial articles for clicks

If i was Cajun, I’d keep flying the old one even if it was changed
Posted on 5/23/19 at 10:24 am to DustyDinkleman
I wonder what Acadian means.

None of the actual culturally rich spots outside of Lafayette give a shite about that flag anyway.
